It was a lovely day here but the sun has gone in now.

A bit of gardening done, a bit of tidying, a line of washing, dinner prepped.

    Have a good evening folks.

I like the salvia, Verdun. very pretty. I see it is Australian raised. How hardy is it?

I took cuttings off Amistad. They are now a foot high and coming into flower.

I thought the original plant had died, but shoots are coming from below ground. I will leave them, see if it flowers before winter.

I will certainly make sure I have plenty of cuttings of it this year.

The only one that really survived winter well, and is now flowering is Hot lips. It came into flower a few days before the cuttings did. African skies has buds, but the original died, as did most of the other "hardy" salvias that I had as a 10 cutting job lot, last year.

It's been a long day but rewarded with baby granddaughter, Ella, early this evening. All well if exhausted.

Picked a huge bunch of garden flowers this afternoon, blue and pink ones feel very lucky, relieved and blessed.image

Congrats LilyP - a long time coming but I'm sure she is worth it.

Pippin seems a bit more settled, and has finally slept for a hour or so. Must make even dogs feel better when they are properly rested.

Can't see much gardening happening at the moment though I have watered and OH cut one of lawns, it was the clover one so the bees have gone, but I'm sure they'll be back

A lot of work needs doing to get garden to where it was last year, but hey, it will happen eventually and I will be able to see it image

Glad you had a good day Lily even if you are shattered.

Verdun I have just bought 4 plug plants of 'Love and Wishes'  they have already trebled in size and are romping away.  I am planting them in pots so I can overwinter them in the greenhouse if I need to but I think they are supposed to be hardy.
