Glen Tilt is rather beautiful - nicer than the actual mountain which is a fairly dull, heather covered slope with a load of scree on top. But - the woodland on the way there is covered with wild garlic and cow parsley just now. There are oyster catchers, skylarks, sandpipers, wheatears, pipits and a river full of huge rocks scoured by the water tumbling down. Have I sold it to you?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
You could always buy one of the stalker's/estate worker cottages WW but you'd need a 4 wheel drive for the winter to get in and out when there's several feet of snow! Oh - and it's a two hour drive north east from where I am!
Thought for a moment it was the cat that was the planter....should have gone to Specsavers...

You're right WW. One of the lodges is about twenty feet from a great chasm of the river where the water just surges and foams round huge slabs of rock, and the birch trees and rowans are on the banks. You could never tire of that view from the windows

OK Wonkey - well it's a free pot there's a pelargonium you'll have to keep on the kitchen windowsill through the winter, and the French marigold should deter whitefly/greenfly etc............. look at it this way, the organisers obviously don't have terribly high expectations ..............you're bound to win top prize when they see what you've done to your garden in just a couple of months
And if you and hubby are moving to Scotland, don't forget we'll need your address for holidays
