We did some moon watching here too - quite spectacular here, but we had very clear skies. Feel I could do with a lie in to compensate - but thats not going to happen. Need to get out there and check on my new purchases before I set off for work.
The other garden's I visited at the weekend - well worth a visit for anyone who can get to the East Sussex area - were Merriments and Sarah Ravens, who was having one of her open days. Both were lovely
Morning all. I woke at 3am and had a look but total cloud here so no chance of the moon. Did you get any pix doc and chicky? They've been showing some on the Beeb news. Think Bob and Davidk were going to try - Bob's set up sounded very impressive
Was up Loch Lomond yesterday too LP - not been on that side of the country recently. Lots of trees turning. Hope dog is ok - duck tape's marvellous stuff isn't it?
That little chap's very well camouflaged Pat
Off to see what's what and then off to work. It's not all beer and skittles for me, you know....
Have a good day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I accidentally did some moon watching. Old dog wakened me so she must have known I'd want to see it. It was partial at 4.25 here and almost total about 4.45. Glad I bothered to look...we'll probably all be dead before the next one comes around!
Good morning folks! I woke and saw a shadow across the moon, think it was around 4.15 - 4.30 ish. Then I went back to sleep - if I'd opened the blinds I could've watched it from bed but didn't think at the time - doh!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Good morning LilyP We had a lovely holiday thank you
I've heard from Wonky - she and her hub (and upon occasion Papa Womble and a crowd of friends) are busy renovating the basement of the apartment they're moving into any day now. It's a shame the move couldn't have happened over the summer when she had some time on her hands, but heyho, that's life isn't it?
I'll be over to see her soon as I've some pressies for her from Hosta

Morning all. The moon here was huge, lit our way home from the concert last night, 1 hour drive. The sky was clear.
Men are here emptying the septic tanks. There is one each side of the house. Bit smelly outside!
I've been to all those gardens you mention, Chicky, except for Sarah Raven. They are lovely. I love the planting at Merriments and the setting of Pashley Manor - with tea on the terrace!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
LIke Punkdoc, rubbish sleep patterns had me awake so I was able to see the moon.
At first I thought it was cloud in front and then realised I could see every star in the sky. Looked again and realised it was the eclipse which gave the colour.
For those of you who missed it, I'd have rather been fast asleep too.
