    Morning all!  image

OH was out all day and all evening yesterday, hence I stayed in the garden until dusk (by which time the neighbours could have heard the tummy rumbles!).  This morning I'm - well - a little creaky image but now it's raining, so I got that weeding done just in time.

The baby woodpeckers are very entertaining.  Dad W was on the peanut-and-suet cake this morning, pecking out beakfuls for Junior W, very fat & fluffy, who was hanging upside-down from one of the bird feeders, cheeping loudly.  image

Clari - poor Reggie, hope he's feeling better soon.  Wooden floors look great  image

Wonky, hope Flatface doesn't turn into too much of a starfish when you're trying to load him into the carrier.  They all try it...

A huge pile of i****ng awaits.  The only downside of going on holiday (unless you count the weeds germinating with glee while you're away) image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Haha Liri! Starfish is exactly it! image its like he's in a room with the walls closing in and he pins his feet to either side and pushes! All being well it should be the last trip there for a while!

Glad I'm not the only one that needs a floodlit garden for night gardening Liri! I'm just as bad! image go in when its dark and realise I haven't eaten all day!

Wonky - put him in backwards - the starfish thing doesn't work that way round! image

I see Dove has turned back into a Dove again - was that before or after the lovely builder came?

CRISIS here too! Flood! A loo cistern had overflowed all night. Water flowed down steps into the hall (which is really a sitting/dining room that I used to use for B & B). Wallpaper stained, Axminster carpet (very old) sodden. Spent ages mopping up. Insurance man says they'll pay for any damage. That was a loo I was worried about and a plumber had looked at it before we went to New York and declared it OK.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

A suitable case for 'Sue' then Lizzie, silly plumber!

Dove, putting the cat in backwards never worked for mine; ideally I'd have needed a strait jacket for Gracie, the cat who died a few months ago, who had a sixth sense about visits to the vet.  She'd been ill-treated as a kitten image (we got her and her sister from a shelter when they were about 2) and was always terrified of brooms and work boots.  Though very loving and trusting with us, she would quickly panic in an unfamiliar situation.  Her sister Vera also has her hang-ups, but is generally more laid back (and doesn't scratch the vet!).

Steady rain here.  At least it should re-fill the water butt.

Can you tell I hate the disgusting i.....g?  My coffee break has extended itself...  Normally my lovely OH does the above-mentioned disgusting task, but he's got a couple of weeks of paid employment (on the local steam railway) so it's only fair for me to do it for him.

Back to it I suppose... image

    Liri - ironingimage.

At least you know the insurers will pay out Lizzie but you could do without all the hassle.image

Wonky the men are away for lunch and Dino has been perfect all morning.  Keeping out of the way and snoozing on our bed most of the time.  Fred is also keeping out imageof the way by bowling againimage.  Hope Flatface doesn't take too long to capture and confine.  Good luckimage

DD you sound as though you're getting somewhere you want to be.  Sure you will still have some lilies. Ut why not take pics to show and say 'you should have been here last week'image.  Loved Dove's idea of keeping special weeds for insects.image

Vet visit completed unscathed! image put some cat nip in the box which he went in to investigate and then would you believe it, the wind blew the door to the cat box shut with Flatface inside!?!?! image or that's what he believes happened anyhow!

Commiserations on the ir****g Liri! I will do the washing up in sympathy! ( truth is, its the only way my fingernails get clean these days!) image
