  • Thanks everyone for your kind comments. And good luck DD for your open day. I know I had some neglected corners but I don't think the visitors noticed!image Give them some stunners to look at, an over strength Pimms, and guide them where you want them to go and you will be fine.image Horticultural subterfuge is the name of the game.

Quiet on here today, took ages to find and read thread.

good luck tomorrow DD , unfortunately it is the blinkin lawn most people notice to describe a 'tidy' garden - note also to FB! I'm sure both gardens will wow everyone image

Finally got the scented pots planted up. Went to local GC, owner recommended Cinderella stocks, though shed run out but found me a couple of healthy 6x traysimage, also got nicotiana (she wasn't too impressed this would provide the wow fragrance), some petunias, lobelias, nasturtiums and a pretty flowering saxifrage - all potted up. 46 x cosmos potted to go to car boot sale along with the 28 done a couple of weeks ago. Plus 16ish in the borders! Now off to water again!

    Hello all

Would of popped on here yesterday but got woken up in morning and ended up with a headache all day that would not go away,  so it was best to stay away from computer screen

Great Day on Woody's open garden and village gardens, just exhausting so much walking around from one garden to another, especially as we thought number 4 and 5 were not that far on map but they were in walking, my ex injury from my ankle started really hurting again

We managed 12 out of the 15 gardens - did not go to no' 7, no' 13 and 14  - glad that extra garden opened as I liked their garden - Woody we ended up at no' 1 garden at just gone 5pm so were near yours to when you could of been starting your garden party

So nice to meet Woody, Chicky, 4thPanda and FloBear who was from the other fork handles forum - we got to have cake in one garden, brought a rudbeckia plant from the village shop

Stroke some horses between gardens, Number 6 garden had a nice swimming pool - liked that

Someone had a big green tomato already on a plant and another garden had cucumber on a plant, got some inspiration from the gardens

Will be sorting out photos sometime soon but need to get them on the computer too tired tonight

Evening all, back from Nanna Duty, had a quick wizz round the garden and done a bit of deadheading and tidying.

Popped to Webbs today and picked up some plant supports, trying to keep roses Munstead Wood and Paul's Noel in order.  Amazing how everything is shooting up at the moment.

    Hope everyone is OK.

Hello folks - I'm back from visiting with Wonky image  I now have little punk ladybird larvae on my roses, some night scented stocks for the garden and a bunch of sweet peas in a vase on the dining table.image  She has some smashing seedlings all pricked out and potted on - I never spotted her green fingers before but she certainly has them image

You'll see that a visit to Wonky's garden has had quite a rejuvenating effect image

Wow, what's happened to Dove? Is that just from visiting Wonky's garden? Shall post her avatar here in case she changes her mind all of a sudden!

Yup Lizzie, all I did was give her a tub of ladybird larvae and a bunch of sweet peas! I think the potential was there all along! image my Hubby's always saying that my Mum's a hottie! Givesbme hope for the future!

Don't worry Edd, the colour will come! Won't be long now, your pland stand is looking splendid! image

  • Thanks Gg, to have seen as many as you did was fantastic. Bit like doing a triatholon followed by press-ups. Look forward to all your photos, not too may close-ups of weeds please. A lady phoned today to say she had been inspired to write a poem, which she is sending to the local paper. The power of gardening.image.

We all get to see each others gardens next week. By all accounts it should be quite good.image

Lizzie - so glad you knew how to do thatimage.  One of Lyn's threads asked for an ID and Dove said if it was that she was Sophia Loren.  It wasimage.  (Just a bit of background for those who missed it).  My ability to post on here is erratic atm but I do readimage.

Edd you should try a bit further North - we're still using winter duvetsimage

LilyP - hope you can get some relief for back pain.  I know now that I have to be careful with what I lift and how much I can do at one time.  Doesn't always workimage.  Bet you're on pins waiting for Thursdayimage.

Hope your day went well Pandaimage.

Can't look back or I'll lose everything.  I will try to catch up.  Goodnightimage
