Jo, do you have any Lavender in your garden? After looking at mine I start head singing Lavender blue dilly dilly lavender green when you are king I shall be Queen. However I am Don't ask about the Sweet song Little Willy, after I've looked at some of my chillies.
Old drivers that are short of confidence and not sure of the road lay out are the worst on the road. I think once your 65 you should have a driving assessment every 5 years to make sure you are still safe to drive. We took my dads car off him after he had 2 bumps within 10 weeks his timing and concentration was not up to what it once was. Told him it was only a matter of time till it was a serious crash and how would he like to lose one of his family in that way he agreed with us all for safety reasons.
OH has set off from Wet Wales. If the Severn bridge is open he should be home for dinner at 8 with a following wind.
I have barrowed 7 loads of FYM for the runner beans. Forked in,put sticks in, dusted with FBB, and planted 34 runner bean plants. I just have to water in and tie in.
The french beans are still in the polytunnel. Far too windy for their delicate constitution. (not hardened off enough yet)
I then planted two dozen stocks plants in a block for cutting.
The new red brugmansia is only a foot high but has a flower bud on. My sweet peas have buds on too.
Right coffee break over. Beans to tie to stakes now.
PS. well done on all the graft hope OH home for meal
Andy my OH is 63 this time and a far better driver than me ..but he has done a lot of miles and driven abroad. Took my Dad's car off him when he developed dementia his G.P knew his condition but renewed his licence application aged 74
Well we were blown through Rotherham: bless organisers they always carry the mega phone but seem petrified of using it so I'm afraid I've no idea what was happening half the time and it all seemed most laid back which at least means the shoppers might not have thought us protestors.
It was so windy the poor Police Horse kept trying to tack into the wind! I think it was blowing right up his ears he seemed most unhappy.
Having a rest before His Lordship comes home. Could do with getting jobs done in the garden but its so windy and cold and I'm a delicate creature. I really need to think of what to have for super tonight. Aside from it involving potatoes I don't know what it'll be!
