Hi FG, it gets rid of the carpet that my predecessor thought was a spiffing idea to make the place look 'homely'. I like friendly but easy to clean can be welcoming too!
Our garage continues, first layer of concrete flooring is down, brickie will be rebuilding front on Thursday. Roofing was started today but since it is going to piddle it down tomorrow the builders have only done a bit up there.
Thankfully despite the fact that we need a new roof (as it has to be a 'warm roof' rather than just well insulated - tis all to do with ventilation), they are able to put the new one on top of the old one so we are still pretty much watertight, it is just costing us a wad more!
Well, at least the unexpected pipe that we found under the floor turned out to be a makeshift electrical conduit and not the main soil pipe, so that didn't cost us more!
fairygirl. your comment about Lyn made me actually laugh out loud. Not just because it was funny ,but Lyn is one of the loveliest, kindest Poppets on this earth and I'd never think anything like that of her.

It's like carpets in loos. Why did anyone think that was a good idea?....
At least once the roof's on the weather won't be so much of an issue. Hopefully the men can crack on with it then

But she can help herself if I'm wrong.

This is how much rain we've had in 24 hours. Honest.
