My Strawberry Tea went well, 40 people came, several bearing cakes. We actually had too much cake! So we auctioned two of them and made an extra £20. Made about £50 from selling left over plants from my Open Garden day. Tickets for the tea were £9 each. For a cancer charity.

I have realised that I don't actually like cannas. I grew some last year in a pot and they did quite well. I put them in a box of compost in the garage over winter and when I got them out they were all shrivelled up and dried out. Perhaps I should have watered them, but I forgot about them. Bit of a relief because they don't really suit my garden style, which is more romantic and rose filled.

Night night Dove...  image  and others too;  if I go to bed at a sensible time I hardly see OH, who's a bit of an owl. so I try to stay awake for his sake.  Doing a bit of yawning though image

Lizzie, I'm glad you said it first.  I don't like cannas either - and like you, they wouldn't fit my garden, which is too damp and shady.  I've no time for bedding either... I much prefer plants which look as if they really love growing in my garden, which tends to exclude anything exotic.

    Too much cake, eh?  image

Wish our car was a convertible like yours, Winter.  I suppose I could take a can opener to the roof of our IQ to accommodate trees...  imageimage

The newly-uncovered ears survived their first foray into the garden.  Grass tidy, ready for hols.  image

Morning all! Yup Dove pull yaself off the floor, I'm up! And I've been to bed not just stayed up! image

Set alarm so I could go round carboot sale while hubby snoring, but its blinking peeing it down! Still going, just gonna haggle more due to my inconvenience of getting wet! But I reckon the stallholders will want to go home so will reduce rates! At least the plants won't need watering! Have a relaxing day all image
