Haha winter! Not sure we are much of a support group for plant addicts trying to quit here!  image

Sounds likeq you've been busy Verd! Food reward is a grand incentive I find, eh Dove!

Dove, can't forgive Paul McCartney after the duet with kanya! Some folks will do anything to appear cool! How very desperate! image but Dave Grohl! Genius! And a bit lovely too!

Very pleased your mum is out of hospital Lesley image and you won't be in and out of traffic jams!

    Newsflash!

OH has seen my intentions and has broken the house rule and allowed me use of tools! image not power of course, he's not crazy!

Think he was worried I was going to ask him to do stuff, so allowed me to do it myself! But negated himself of responsibility of any accidents that occur. I've been deconstructing pallets and I'm making a planter, and its actually going well! I've surprised myself!!! Just in for a scrambled egg and chive break for strength as I realised I'd been so busy I hadn't eaten all day! After that, the project continues!image

    I have a blue poppy in flower.imageimage

Its a lingholm hybrid. One flower out of three plants. Still, three plants survived winter, so a bit of feed and hope for next year.

Now I'm just hoping for cautleyas and roscoeas. So far, only kew beauty is showing.

    Hey Fidget

I have sent some suggestions to you for autumn flowers on Cutting garden thread.

Hope they will be useful image

    Evening all.

Quiet days pottering, nursing slight hangover.

Several Meconopsis now got buds, but none ready to flower.

WW, I go back far enough to have seen Dave Grohl drumming with Nirvana.

Have a lovely evening all, I need to get on and cook tea, OH applying for jobs, as her current one ends in July.

How long does it take from a really large bud to a flower?

Thanks for the good wishes re Mum.  She'll be chuffed when I tell her (Emmerdale addictimage).

KEF - how long is a piece of string?  I suppose it depends on how much sun, rain and warmth they getimage.

Wonky - How kind of OH to let you borrow his toolsimage.  My OH told me he mended the central heating today by putting batteries in the thermostat.  Must admit I didn't know it had batteries eitherimage.  I'm the main DIYer as he's left handedimageimage.  Never come across a left handed screwdriver beforeimage

Well done to all the blue poppy peopleimage

And great news that ma Lesley is making a good recovery - hope she will be fighting fit again soonimage

Did my stint at the Hidden gardens ticket place - about 300 people came today alone - and there will have been more yesterday coz the tickets were valid for both days.  Did a bit of garden visiting too - geum tequila sunrise really caught my eye.  Wish list is growing again.

Came home and did my planting, and now collapsing.  Took the bike, and there is a very big hill between us and the village, which demonstrated just how unfit I have becomeimage  Springwatch soon, whilst folding all the washing.  How can two teenage girls generate so much laundryimageimageimage
