Glorious sunshine today so of course its time for work. Didn't manage to get much done yesterday despite working til late so I'm hoping for an injection of motivation if anyone has any spare.
Dan Pearsons "creation" was probably the best I have seen, attention to detail just extraordinary, wild areas looked so natural. My only criticism would be, that I am not sure it was a garden.
Very high quality of planting in several other gardens, it is interesting how often particular plants seem to occur across several gardens.
Lots of purple / orange combinations and Geums used very heavily.
For the foodies amongst you, our meal had to change when Dinner phoned on Saturday and said they were moving table to 22.30. Too late for me to start eating what should be a 4 hour experience, so we cancelled.
Ended up going to Simon Rogan restaurant Fera. It was stunning, although could have had a short holiday for the cost!
I will try and post some Chelsea photos soon.
Hope all are well.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
RB - hope grand-daughter makes a quick recovery - you're right, things are so different nowadays, they go in, snip and out again, none of that fudging around messing bits around stuff so the risk of adhesions etc is less - well, that's my impression of when DIL had hers done - if I'm wrong I'm sure Pdoc will correct me - if his head's not too full of wonderful food and even more wonderful gardens.
As for Dan Pearson's 'garden', I had a ponder on that too, and I decided that because he'd made it, it is a garden - if it had just happened it wouldn't have been - except if it had just happened 'in a garden' and it had been allowed/edited - then it would also have been a garden.
Purples and oranges!!! They saw my new front border last summer!!!!!!!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Punkdoc, 22.30 for a table.... ridiculous. Did they bounce you for Prince Harry?
Chatsworth..is it a garden?
Well, I wish I had the space and money to do it. It just needs a lazy fox having a scratch in the sunshine to complete it. Dan Pearson said never again, too much stress, but then I guess he gets more commissions than he can do anyway.
I don't think our mrs mallard has babies. Although the drake still follows her around in a very attentive way, looking hopeful.
bit disheartened last eve as went out to inspect my veg patch - small but perfectly formed as they say - everything blown all over the place and even broad bean stalks were a sad sight. going to water this morn as only light wind but am annoyed.....
put on the coffee machine for later this morning as a 'cheer-up'...and getting stuck into seed-sowing later after bit of retail therapy with a friend...
fidgbones - i love ducklings!! lucky you.. we've got a v busy magpie here - building a massive nest way up high in one of our trees - can't wait for the new arrivals!!
Morning all! I'm not saying anything about the weather, don't want t to jinx my luck!
Having only just taken up gardening, this is my first Chelsea experience, so I have been catching up, getting ideas and finding out what kind of gardener I am, other than a bit of a changed!
Hope everybody has a good day, bad luck on the wind damage Gilly! Maybe a GC visit could cheer your spirits!

Back from wining, dining and gardening in London.
I thought Chelsea was great.
