Hi everyone, Day two of the Nanna marathon challenge. Nice and sunny today so after dropping Merri off at school took Mabel for a walk round the garden centre. Was explaining to her all about the plants and she took a fancy to a Choysia White Dazzler, so not wishing to deprive a very cute 18 month year old I decided to buy the plant, she can look at it when she comes to visit me. We then celebrated the sunshine with a custard slice and a cup of tea, Oh and Mabel decided on a packet of quavers and a fruit shoot.
The afternoon was not quite as wonderful, firstborn arrived home after Mabel had had two trips to the naughty step. Mind you we did get a kiss and a sorry Nanna after the event.
Evening all - seems that in the short while I've been away there has been a flurry of activity - peeps getting sick and then better (, for the better bit), blue skies from far flung places, beds planted up (love the dahlia/canna combo - looking forward to pics that would make Christo smile later in the summer), and fruit shoot induced trips to the naughty step.
thanks for the good luck wishes for the chicklets - and good wishes back to others with youngsters going through similar stresses and strains
About to go and fleece my GH, just in case
Great admiration here for those who have the courage to do "what they really, really want" (sounds like a cue for the Spice Girls )......as long as they are prepared to graft for it, and do not expect it to fall into their laps. As the cliche goes, its not a rehearsal
Glad you're feeling better Dove! I'm still in the garden, well in the shed, my forecast says we are going to have a lowest temperature of 7, do you think my garden and all its delicates will be OK? Just planted my Choisya! and foxgloves and all my other bits!

I crept up on him (or her) Lesley....
but he/she didn't mind!
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
A mans work is never done, gardening most of day, despite the weather.
Now got dinner to cook, some new seasons lamb cutlets.
Finally need to run the hoover round.
OK, one of those is a lie!

Hmmm - looks like here in East Anglia we're not getting the drop in temperature until the wee small hours of Thursday morning ...

Wonky, your garden's in the town centre and very sheltered - I think it'll be fine.
Our lowest temp tonight is due to be 9C, then on Thursday morning at 4am it'll go down to 5C - according to the Met Office website.
