    Morning to all

Great day forecast and I have so many jobs to do including planting, DIY and homework

A big thank you to OH for the miracle that is my new bathroom

Sorry to hear of your work situation Flumpy, my boss spent all weekend flirting with me but it was attention flirting and joking stuff, the good kind if you like that sort of thing, never inappropriate which should always be reported, so stay strong and remember it's not your misinterpretation because as adults we all know the difference between my type and your type image

P.S Wonky, I have that Choisya featured on GW, it really is lovely and now I know it's not a beast to control, I have the perfect place for it image

    Enjoy your day everyone

    Morning all.

Hot and humid here, but very dark clouds.

Like others have said, I feel the need to get stuff done today.

Just heard my first cuckoo, sadly quite a rare sound round here now.

    Have a good day.

I hope things work out for you Flumpy.

Must be something in the air today - it's that sort of day for me too! Made a good start attacking a patch of iris pseudacorus on the edge of our pond. I love it as a plant but we have more than enough of it already. I've filled 2 barrowloads with just roots and only cleared about a quarter. Felt in need of a coffee! Misty rain has stopped and there is the faintest glimmer of sun so might be able to move on to nicer things later.

Went to a plant fair yesterday and came home with lot of bags and no cash left. All things on my (looong) shopping list except Peony 'Bowl of Beauty' which has been on my wish list for ages image

Well efforts to take Reggie to the vets didn't work well. We leave near two primary schools so I decided to wait for walkies until the traffic and cleared (less stress for him), then we decided to go on a longer walk in the hope he'd be too tired to bite the vet...

Reggie decided he simply HAD to talk to all the other doggies and by the time we got there the vets was closed. Oops! Back for breakfast and we'll try again later after a trip to the garden centre (maybe).

Very windy and cloudy here: I can't decide whether to risk doing a mass washing session and hanging the washing out as if it does rain I'll not have enough space to put anything. Yesterday would have been ideal but the neighbours drains were blocked so it wouldn't have been fair on their patio to have pushed any more water their way!

Have fun doing everything you need to do!

SM done and now I can get into the garden it's started raining.  Washing now in the tumble dryer as it is now wetter than when I put it outimage.  Good luck at the vet's when you get there Clari.

Buttercupdays Bowl of Beauty is gorgeousimage.  I've had one for three years and it just gets better and better.  Hope you find one soon.

I'd love that choysia too Winter as it sounds much hardier than the types I've tried before which have a tendency to turn up their roots at our conditions.

Hope you've managed to get out to play lilyimage

    I've dealt with Josephine image

Chopped her off at the base, de-potted only to discover my own faults. The compost was dry as a bone despite my watering and constant checking with a dibby finger. image

When I rescued her from the ground two years back,  I left the soil she came with to reduce the stress, but it seems to have become her universe, a solid lump of poor soil with no attachment to the meaty compost I added to the pot. She did brilliantly in the pot and showed no signs of unhappiness and actually put on massive growth so I'm not sure why she didn't tell me sooner.

I've lifted her, removed the horrible soil and stuck her in intensive care, will see what happens next but I do have two babies doing nicely whatever occurs image

Hello folks!  Lovely day here now.  image

Just back from Land Farm gardens.  A huge shelter belt of trees, planted 50 years ago when the owners bought the farmhouse as a ruin (with 30 acres, for £1,700!) means they have a superbly sheltered and wonderfully designed garden, full of acers just bursting into leaf, and rosettes of mecanopsis and cardiocrinums which will be fabulous in a few weeks.  The owner describes himself as "painting with plants", and was inspirational in explaining the reasons for his design choices.  image The garden was also full of specially commissioned sculptures.  (Nice if you can afford it...  image)

No sticky labels, but tea and sticky homemade cake instead!  image

Just time to check a few things in the garden and sow another row of peas, before getting tea.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
