Decent day today, not cold and some nice sunshine.  Went to the garden centre today and treated myslef to Brunnera Jack Frost, Pulsatilla Eve Constance and Euonymus Fortunei Silver Queen.  Managed to get them planted along with the Geum Fireball I bought the other day.

Off to firstborn's later as I'm on Nanna Duty tomorrow.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

Hello folks - we're back image

We had a lovely day at Cromer - a walk along the seafront, lots of browsing in shops full of seaside gifty stuff and galleries, then to the pier (winner of Pier of the Year 2015)

then we had a very good lunch in the Courtyard behind the Wellington http://thewellycromer.co.uk/ - we both had Cromer crab gratin with a herby green salad and a lovely citrus dressing - much better than we were expecting and we shall definitely go there again. We had intended to go to the Rocket House Café, but there was a long queue for a table (they have wonderful sea views), and the queues for the good fish and chip places were quite long too, so we took pot luck with the Welly and were very pleased. We had eaten there before but it was a long time ago.

After lunch we had a walk on the beach, then flopped on the shingle with icecreams

We half expected to meet up with Verdun ...

Then we walked back to the car, on the way buying a stick of rock for Ma, and drove home in the sunshine with the top down image

    Love Cromer  imageimagel

Lily Pilly how worrying for you and for them - come on do the Chinese really need to keep the pets.

DD will look forward to meeting you, especially with cake, unless my hostess has plans - have a feeling it's garden sorting though, packed my G-gloves already image

Trying to make a list (requested) of what OH needs to do in the garden. Finding it very hard as what I would do automatically he would not think of (scratching head instructions)

Oh, just thought of something else - back in a bitimage

Cromer looks great in the sunshine Doveimage

Got quite a bit done out there - brambles (put a couple of photos on how the SBK/pipecleaner thing works on the other thread), planted out my sweet peas and got some stakes in to save my delphiniums from the gales expected midweek.

And now, time for feet upimage

Cromer was absolutely lovely Chicky image

Anybody been to Cheltenham Jazz Festival?  Just discovered that a friend of my daughter Wonky was performing there http://www.cheltenhamfestivals.com/jazz/whats-on/2015/alice-russell/ She has a fabulous voice.  I remember driving them both through Suffolk, all of us singing our heads off - I've sung with Alice Russell image

    Evening all image

Had a lovely day in the sunshine image After holding down the bench for a while I just couldn't take the mess in my square bed any longer and decided the only way forward was to man up and weed it image Not only did weeding happen, but have started the attack on the Spanish Bluebells.  I can't dig down to get rid of the bulbd without damaging too many plants so have decided to kill them by stealth - take of the leaves and flowers and there should be nothing left for them to gather nutrients.  Bet it doesn't work image

Glad you had a lovely time in Cromer Dove image

LilyP, can't believe offical-dome sometimes image

Panda - Bob Flowerdew on GQT always recommends that method of weed control.  Might take a couple of years, but in the end the plant gives up.  I am using it to try and conquer the bracken in our grassy bitimage
