Dd, I remember my ex (Wonky's Pa Womble) telling me of a time when he was a very cheeky teenager and he splashed an older chap in another kayak who told him to behave himself or else.

The ex's reply was something along the lines of 'and what are you going to do about it?' ... the other chap got out of his boat and waded toward him ... ex said he'd never paddled so fast in his life image

Dove, never a truer word said!  At least I got an appreciative cup of coffee in bed this morning.

Miserable day here. Misty rain since last night, and cold.  Rain gauge not showing enough to justify the unpleasantness.

We've been sitting in front of TV all day. Caught up on some earlier recorded  shows including three Who do you think your are? One was a soprano called Lesley Garrett from Yorkshire. I assume some of you know who she is.  Also saw Julie Walters who we have fond memories from Educating Rita, etc. forget the third one. Her name was not familiar to us.

I imagine we'll be hitting the sack early because I don't we can bear the thought of much more TV.  image

Lesley Garret has a lovely voice and she's slim and pretty too. Julie Walters is a really well known actress in England.

Have just had a heavy shower. Waiting for son to ring to say whether he wants me today or tomorrow for the next stage of housemoving, granny duties.

DD: Looks like I shall have to stop off at Bordeaux on my (so far entirely theoretical) trip to the Med, and go up the Dordogne.

Dove: Those croissants look just the job with my coffee.  Home made blackcurrant jam too image

Just made a vat of bolognese sauce to feed Ma and me ce soir.  Tipping it down here - got wet going out to get the herbs.
