Just a thought Star gaze Lily but if that oak is impeding in any way on NDN's property it might be an idea to contact your council tree officer and get it protected.
The lovely one (not in my garden) we have found is protected . If it wasn't NDN and I were going to see if it was possible for us to protect it
Why would anyone want to cut down a mature tree that isn't threatening their home? I've got a row of mature trees at the end of my garden and it's a priviledge to watch all the birds going about their business at this time of year. Ill have to replace the fence when something big enough falls on it, but by that time hopefully the hedge will be big enough the fence wont need replacing.
I think they got the message. The last lot of washing is now in the dryer. I had hoped to use the power of the sun.
If they do it again I have a long hosepipe. I did it once before at the old place. A builder used to burn all his rubbish on Sundays. I turned the hosepipe on it, and called the council. You're not allowed to burn business waste in residential areas.
Today I have potted up cosmos.I opened a bag of Arthur Bowers MPC. Not convinced by the bits of blue plastic. To see any difference, I have potted half up in Arthur Bowers and half in Levington M3 pro. Side by side on the bench, so we'll see.
Funny you should mention that, I get bits of blue plastic in compost regular enough that I look out for it. Must get shipped around in those 1-ton bags that builders merchant use at some point in its life?
Verdun - if there's lots of tourists around will I struggle to park my fire engine? I'm not sure about the naked bit: up here we're practically sewn into our vests.
Matty, we thought it did have a preservation order on it
When talking to my neighbour earlier, he said every time his dad came round he said.......'you want to get rid of that tree'...........then he said that every time his Uncle came round.....blah blah. So i told him it had a PO on it. No it hasn't he said my uncle checked. Told him quite politely that i liked my tree and that we had had it trimmed etc. 'Oh well, its your tree' he said. I just smiled and got on with my weeding. What i thought was something completly different
Anyone else having problems on the forum tonight, its taking me ages to post, sometimes the avatars are missing but most of the time the'box' to write in is missing. Can't get into my settings either.
The nursery I went to see with gardening club was huge, enormous polytunnels with big tables covered in heated mats and masses of baby plants, mostly annuals and veg such as tomatoes, leeks, courgettes and herbs. The chap explained how it all worked and that all the pricking out is done by hand. Then we saw smaller polytunnels with hardening off from heated mats baby plants, perennials and roses. Not nearly such a big selection of perennials as I'd expected though.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
