Still blowing a gale here, with heavy rain and a hail storm.

Been trying to cut new plastic panels for the greenhouse, not easy in this wind. Something tells me I am wasting my time.

Have tried to block the stream from flowing into the pond for a while, to hopefully allow the water level in the beds to go down. More heavy rain forecast.

Ok, I admit it, I am now getting miserable.

Pdoc leave the plastic until wind drops it's terrible just now, the wind will keep frost away. Just throw fleece, old net curtain or whatever over your seedlings & plants.

Hugs don't get down, this carp weather will pass and it will be wearing shorts weather soon  image

    Afternoon all,

I do hope everyone stays safe and well, driving, dog walking or wrestling with the washing line Dove image.

Had to visit the vets this morning as I did that terrible thing and googled a complaint Flynn has had for a while, it came up with all kinds of life threatening ailments so I got him checked out. Vet says there is definitely an issue with him so we will start at the most basic level of food intolerance, and they say dogs reflect their owners!

I haven't been able to eat gluten for 15yrs, so now Flynn has special vet food which he is woofing down unlike he's ever done with the best dried food so OH and I have already decided to feed him wet food once he's off the Vet's stuff. He's forbidden from having any treats, no food scraps, no biscuits, no puppy milk and no garden!! He mustn't be allowed to chew on sticks of anything else which is devastating really as I enjoy his company so much outsideimage

It's all part of a control to test for food intolerance but the poor little lamb is a tad confused although he's such an amazing and good little boy, when OH had to level part of the hallway floor before lying new tiles, he made sure not to step on any fresh bits.

My shredder came this afternoon and despite the gales, yes, you guessed it, I did some shredding. 3 of 4 bags gone to dust and added to my compost heap which needed it to be honest, as its a bit dark and wet at the moment. We have the wood for OH to build me three new bins but that's for another day. I have to say I'm mighty impressed with the machine, it does exactly what I ask it to. Hurray for once!image

Weekend plans being made with a friend visiting, so it will be work food booze work food booze booze booze day offimage

Horribly windy here. Have just taken delivery of a new bike (got to get fitter!) but have no intention of test riding it today - the window cleaner said he had to slalom through all the wheely bins which have blown into the road. My lovely landscaper has just repaired hazel panels screens which were damaged in a strong gust this morning (fence post completely snapped off at ground level) . I am so grateful to him for coming so quickly - the damage would have been much worse if it had been left.

Feel for you p'doc - life feels really c**p when it's one step forward & 2 steps back. Grit your teeth & hang in there - the weather will get better, the garden will dry out & you'll be able to enjoy a glass of something alchofrolic in the sun before too long.

Matty - I like Sarah Raven stuff - a bit expensive - but what the heck - you know you're worth it!

Just had our shopping delivered image felt sorry for the delivery man though as it is still proper windy out there.

I have been very lucky with my placcy greenhouse - the zip is broken and thus open to the wind, but it is hard up against a 6 foot fence with bricks on the bottom struts. I don't have anything but equipment in mine yet. I do still dream of a real one though.....

Cheers Kef, but its not worth it to dismantle, now ive had my points back its cost nowt, always knew it wouldnt last long, would have hit the roof if i had paid FIFTY quid for it! Robbin gits!

P'doc, stop fighting love, you will just wind yourself up, in a few days the weather will be beautiful and it will all dry out. Stay indoors and get something useful or relaxing done, how about a cuppa and some plant porn image

Winter, i know its horrid, but you are doing the right thing for Flynn, could you maybe tie his lead to a post so he can garden with you, but not wander off and chew things? He must be feeling better already to gobble his food down like you said image theres plenty of things to shred here when youre doneimage im in bed at the moment, might have slightly overdone things recently! image

Fidget, you know im hopeless in the kitchen, but could you have jam warmed up as a kind of sauce, maybe over some baked apples or summat? Dunno how low carb you have to be image

Verdun, smug is all i can say! Not that i would be any different! But if you keep on we will all come and live with you and eat all your doughnuts! image
