    Afternoon gang,

Been busy in the garden all day, cutting back, tidying up, planting stuff, barking and up rooting an old Choisya Tenata. It was a big old thing but had looked sick for a while and I was waiting to see if it would flush with new growth in spring but instead the root came away from the soil so easily...so room for something newimage

Off to pet store and GC but mood is not great. OH came to see me in the garden and sounded so disappointed as we discussed beds and borders that its kind of ruined the dayimage

    Have fun Matty!

Dove I hope Pa has settled now.

I'm hard at work: can't you tell? Its so cold in this office I wish the wifi would make it onto the street and I'd sit on the kerb working. But I am stuck with a thought. It wont go away. COULD you put a "green roof" on a greenhouse? Too heavy? Block too much light? Why would you want to anyway? Can someone please take this thought from me!!

Take no notice Wintersong.  I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it.  You've done such a lot recently have you got any before and after pictures to cheer you up.

Panda the right job just hasn't turned up yet.  It will, and it will be worth waiting for.

Have cut back the ivy in the garden today, had to get myself motivated but once I got stuck in I felt much better.  I've also planted a Christmas Box that I've had for a few weeks and couldn't find the right spot for.  I've put it behind the new bench.  Never thought I would consider a winter perfumed plant by a bench in the garden.  But you lot have got me out there much earlier this year and that bench has been sat on quite a few times during February.

It's been lovely weather today and hubby has even cleared out the bird bath which is also a water feature, sounds lovely to hear the water running.  Found loads of pretty pink camelia petals in there, I bet it's the squirrels (or sqiggles as my grandaughter Mabel would say).

    Much prefer squiggles Yvie image

Popped into town to sign on (depressing) and picked up two pots of small iris (purple ones) Only 50p each. Bulbs aren't completely submerged in the pots, should they be when I plant them on?

Squidgers is what my cousin's little one used to call themimage.

I'm out with a pickaxe trying to remove some paving stones - not that they were on a path.

Back from the GC and I didn't buy any plantsimage

Thanks for the reassurance Yvie, we've made up now and he says he didn't mean to be so critical and I guess the proof will be in the pudding, I don't think he can visualize the growth some of these plants will put on.

Sqiggles is a cute word when a child say itimage

Enjoy the baby Matty and hope all is well with Dove's Pa.

    Hi all image

Been pruning and chopping in mum's garden, she briefly came out to ask if I had thinned the spiraea Joseph's coat in the middle image she nearly went in the green re-cycling bin image OH has given her lawns the first cut.

    Yvie & Winter hugs.

Panda there is a job out there for you image you just haven't found it yet, hugs .I'm not sure but I don't think iris bulbs want fully covering..someone else will tell you.

Liri I hope you are having a lovely day with your daughter & grandchildimage

Matty bet you are so excited, a first cuddle to be had image

Clari why would you want to block the light coming in through your GH roof, and what about ventilation?  I think that place of work is far too cold image

Dove I hope your Pa & Ma are okay as can be during your visit, hugs.

That gave me an idea Yvie - bought a small sarcocca a couple of weeks back and no idea where to put it. One day will get an arbour finished but could plant it there now as we do sit sometimes even in winter and 'think'.

I started to trim lavender but gave up, potted on some overwintered foxgloves and sowed some beetroot instead.

Dove hope your P's are brighter today

GC's arrive on Saturday- a long time to wait image
