Now I'm showered and dressed it's turned quite overcast outside and the forecast says we may get some heavy rain this morning and it will then brighten up this afternoon. I was going to take the hosepipe around to the front garden to give the border there a soaking, but maybe I'll wait and see what happens ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Was woken by Harrie puss shouting that she wants to go outside, then realised it had been raining steadily for near on two hours! Or maybe it was hearing the lawn breathing a sigh of relief!
What a result on the plant Chicky! You must enthuse very well!
Thanks for all garden judging well wishes folks! Got the BBQ out and fire pit going last night and had a small family get together. Garden went down very well!
Only on first coffee so will catch up with you all later have a lovely day all!
chicky, I think we have finnished with the rain, (rushed round and put all the house plants out) so am sending it to you, Hubby is cleaning the cars, was out on the plot at 5.30, lovelly and cool and fresh, ridiculous ammount of weeds inbetween slabs in the veg plot.. Verdun, love Gauras they flower for such a long time. What happened to the blue Agastache I planted last year then, it was a good metre tall? Oh, YOU have it then Verdun?
Firstborn, Secondborn and grandaughters have just left, so peace and quiet has returned. The sun has been shining all day so far except for 30 minutes when the sky went black and the heavens opened. All sunny again now and no watering tonight.
Had a few casualties (due to hubby buying grandaughter a football) Where is his common sense. A lupin bit the dust along with a delphinium.
Might get back out there in a minute for a spot of weeding.
Lovelly pics. is it a charity open day? Love the Acers (just repotted mine, literally, JUST before coming in) Hubby made a little Japanese bridge, painted red. Just got him to dig a couple of holes for perennials, while the ground is soft, got them watered in, he was weeding, but the Motor Racing called him, I expect he will be screaming at the TV soon!

Oh, I got my Autumn onions up today, they were practically out of the ground and in the greenhouse to harden up, ready for storing.
