Drizzly here after yesterday's perfect, honey-bee filled day. So I won't be encouraging OH to finish his pub meal quickly so I can get back in the garden - probably just as well...
Dove, your OH sounds wonderful... do you rent him out? (Purely for gardening duties, of course! )
Hmm. Better remove foot from mouth and go and have that meal, I think...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Been watching the frogs hopping round the garden, mustnt be very nice to be a lady frog, just seen one lugging a male round on her back!
Got shed of the year on , that chap who made a building for each of his grandkids reminded me of my grandad...we all had something in the garden named after the nicknames he called us, mine was bubbles brook , got me a little choked!
Sorry, I don't rent OH out - I have to bribe him to get him out of the studio, but once he gets started in the garden he gets stuck in and does the jobs properly He knows that if he doesn't I'll do the heavy work and then be a bit stiff and sore and as he's younger he's able to do these things without risking injury - I know how to pick 'em - well, second time around at least
I'm glad we got into the garden early - it's clouding up now and turning a bit chilly, and as the back garden faces east it loses the sun after lunch at this time of year.
While I was in the garden I heard the unmistakable whistle of a steam engine and the sound of a very noisy train on the Norwich - Cambs line that runs across the nearby marshes - that's not something I'd heard from this garden before - by dint of a bit of googling I found this http://www.railwaytouring.net/uk-day-trips/the-easterling was arriving at Norwich station around noon today.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Raining here in Lincolnshire too. I did manage to get one veggie plot sorted out, but had to leave the other two for another day, drat. I had hoped to finish them today and move onto sorting borders, but that's gardening for you always at the mercy of the weather.
Did manage to get several basket plants potted on, and cut down and replant some pelagoniums so not quite a waste of the day..
BL, enjoy the ballet When I met my son's (almost ex) wife I asked her what the word Bolshoi meant - I'd always thought it must mean something really rather wonderful - in fact it means 'big'. The Bolshi Ballet is The Big Ballet

It's a lovely afternoon, but we are going to the cinema to see Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliette", live from Moscow with the Bolshoi Ballet.
Very mixed weather here - can't get on with any big jobs, so I will come to Beaus with you if there's enough room in the tardis
.
Enjoy the ballet Lizzie - never heard of them doing anything like that around here

Hugs bekkie. It's lovely to remember
