Been under clammy grey cloud all day. Still lumps of snow lying around and far too wet to do anything, but at least I can see some soil in places. Found my snow drops and some rather weatherworn hellebore buds. There are new flowers on two different cyclamen, haven't had any on the coum before. They are so tiny and frail looking, however have they managed to survive under 25cm of snow? Amazing things!
Swept the front path and tidied up the primroses in the hanging basket, but I really want to get properly stuck in!
I'm out of the bedroom and we are able to sit on the sofa and watch tv - however as the blinds have been taken down we're exposed to the scrutiny of any passers by
We had pasta and truffle pesto for supper - I can't find a gardening book anywhere - I'm sure they'll reappear in a couple of days!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
By the way, hope you don't mind if I flag up the heroic efforts of a friend of my daughter and her husband. He's cycling around the world to raise money for the charity Recycle which provides reconditioned bikes for people in Africa where they make a huge difference to their lives. It's a really good charity so this is an unashamed plug for Gary and his efforts http://gearsweneveruse.com/route . Also if you check out his route and you live anywhere near he's very grateful for a place to set up his tent overnight, or even a bed and a meal if that's possible

There's another good site Panda - Plantagogo - where I've had good huecheras from.
Verdun I'm glad you got on ok but what a good job that you could give the poor doctor your advice
I've been having a look at the website Dove and it's a great thing he's doing. It's good that you have escaped and can now watch tv but it's always a bit uncomfortable when you feel you're in a goldfish bowl. Turning the lights off is the only option, but mind you don't trip over anything.
Edd, you still sound quite upset, I hope you are OK.
Verdun's right it was Heucheraholics. Have bought quite a few from them and they have always been of excellent quality. Postage is a bit expensive at £8.95 so I always try and buy a few at a time. They usually have a presence at the RHS shows, so if you are going you can always pick some up.

And now feeling an urge to check out a website called heuceradicts (I think that's what Yvie said it was . . . )
