I dont know if these would be any use to Clarington or anyone else. Amongst my Dads posessions,we have found two destination rolls that go in the front of old buses for advising customers where its going. These are at least 20 years old and have Trent bus co destinations.... Nottingham, Mansfield etc.
It's too cold to do much. Perusing plant porn, I came across a pomegranate tree that apparently is hardy to -- 20 C. Has anyone down south managed to ripen one in this country?.I doubt I would have much chance up here, some years we struggle to get the grapes ripe.
Fidget I can't imagine grapes growing up here - we get them pre-bottled. It sounds as though you are getting somewhere with clearing the garage if you are finding bus destinations signs (surely they must have been at the back). By the way eight of the hellebore seeds have germinated already. All in the red and pink. No white or yellow as yet But it is exciting.
Bekkie I must have missed that your Mum wasn't well or had an injury. Hope she's back to normal soon.
DD congratulations on getting the car fixed
Lily, have you still got snow. It's been really mild here and got up to 4 degrees
Enjoy a good laugh tonight Dove
I've now forgotten everything else I read will try to do a better catch up.
Started using the Parasene heater I bought from work last year but havent needed until now, fine for a couple of nights.
Woke up this morning to a black soot filled greenhouse. After reading the many reviews all over the internet about this product I'm surprised its still on sale.
I shall be getting my money back for it and trying to get electricity to the greenhouse instead.
On the plus side, nothing seems too damaged in there, though I had to wash out the entire greenhouse and clean all soot off my plants.
Sorry to hear about the disaster Matt, just what you need on a cold day - washing the greenhouse. Hope the plants are OK.
This is the first year I have had a greenhouse. The plan is to see what will survive without heat. No sure if Choccamocca have survived or weather they are supposed to look dried up and shrivelled at this time of the year. So far lavender cuttings, pellargonium cuttings, penstemmon cuttings are all fine. I have Briza Media seedlings and L Beaujolais doing well.
Will start more seeds off in March using an electric propogator in the conservatory.

What a disaster that was, Guess I'll have to wait until March like you Lizzie and try getting electricity over the Summer.
Nice to see the days getting longer though even if it is freezing ^_^
What a flipping nuisance Matt. On the bright side you may have killed off a few lurking bugs
Hope your back eases soon Panda. Funny how these things happen and we can't pin them down to anything in particular.
Lizzie I hope it's warmed up there since this morning
