Thanks for the tips on the toast, im pretty sure my toaster has a defrost button ..
..if you dont hear from me again, you know whats happened!
Mom has been ti colect the little dog (poppy), her owner was everso upset, made me well up! But all good now, she jumped into moms car like she had never known anything else
c) my attention span rarely remembers the art of defrosting
I freeze my home-made bread the moment its cooled down: just sliced in advance and chucked all together in a plastic food bag. When I need some bread it goes straight in the toast frozen (no fancy extra buttons on this cheap toaster!)
I haven't killed myself or the toaster yet!
(Smashed the door on the microwave when I slipped and headbutted it, put a dent in the oven dropping the kettle, and broke my toe with the iron ... but that's another story)
You'll all be pleased to hear that District Nurse and colleague are home safe and sound - Mountain Rescue have been supporting the practice. Friend has had bacon and lentil soup and crusty bread and now her feet are up and there's a G&T in her hand.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Bekkie, haven't looked out the window for a while, I'll have to check now to see if it's snowing here. Just a little bit, it doesn't seem to be sticking though.
Just had homemade beef stew, hubby cooked it yesterday and it was wonderful. Just the thing for a night like this.
Yeah good luck for the move! Not the best time of year to do it but at least you are moving somewhere you want to be
Took Flynn out earlier and discovered a light dusting of something vaguely resembling snow. It was like glitter with the torch and only on the borders and coldframes but not even full coverage. It's a clear night here though, so you never know
Dove I'm so glad your friends are back safe. I know many 4x4 groups volunteer to help in such weather but I haven't found a local group myself to help. Fingers crossed the weather will be kinder on them tomorrow.
I've just had a "don't wait up" text message. Its been like this for two weeks now as he's hitting a major deadline at work, I'm just hoping he still has tomorrow off I want him to stay in bed (NOT like that KEF) and get some proper rest! I know we're both working too hard (its 20:00 and I'm sat on the sofa writing documents - but at least I'm at home doing so and can snack away not to mention look at the cleaning that really needs doing).
We're also meant to be visiting the kennels re adopting a dog tomorrow. The lady was meant to phone me this week to confirm this and provide us with the somewhat important address. I've not heard anything which is worrying. Not least because I can't even plan anything tomorrow until we hear back. Does anyone else think it strange to have gone 20:00 the night before and not have heard anything? At what point is it socially unacceptable to call a stranger? I don't even like calling my own parents after 21:00 !
Right. I'd best get back to this document: I think the stress is showing. Every time I right camp I giggle a little. Not good for a "weekend and over night camping experience" brochure!
Bill, ive no idea what that flower is, but its very pretty
Clarington! I knew housework was dangerous, but i think you need to give it up!,good luck with the dog
Glad the nurses got home safe, im sure their patients are very grateful
Enjoy Wolf Hall Kef
P'doc, step away from the plant porn, im not saying you will go blind, but eye strain is possible!
Anyone got any ideas on how to stop a very fat dog on steroids crying for more food? If i feed him anything else he will wont be able to carry his own weight!
Bekkie: have you got a toy (like a kong) that you can put the food in so your dog has to "work" for the food? I'm thinking that rather than feeding him more it would keep him busy working for the meal and so not begging from you.
An alternative: what about raw vegetables? I know you have to avoid some vegetables but raw carrot might help fill him while only adding a tiny amount of calories to his diet.
If it were summer I'd suggest freezing food type treats in ice cubes so he'd have to work for it but I don't think we'd be his friends if we suggested that now!

Snow starting to stick here now!
Bekkie.
Because
a) I'm badly organised
b) buying gluten free bread is insanely expensive
c) my attention span rarely remembers the art of defrosting
