Didn't see any dandy lions but I got some more P.L.A.N.T.S
Gosh, I'm so happy to be developing my borders and finding new and exciting additions for my garden. On today's list was an awfully large Elaeagnus ebbingei for much needed height and leaf colour in one of my borders. It was so big the taxi man could hardly get it in the car!
I also found the most amazing Trachelospermum jasminoides*star of Toscane* for desperately needed leaf support alongside my climbing roses, that look barren at the height of summer because of blackspot as well as losing their leaves in winter. For some reason all my climbers barring one Clematis are deciduous, and the leaf colour on this Jasmine is beautiful at this time of the year, I could admire it all day long
Third purchase was a macropetala Clematis because I love them and I want something to support a beautiful climbing yellow rose. so this one is called *Wesselton* and promises to be nodding blue bells
Wesselton is gorgeous - its name is the old spelling of the home village of the person who raised it - the pretty village of Westleton in Suffolk - near to where I used to live and close to where my son lives now
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Afternoon everyone, sorry I missed the morning. I wasn't being lazy though, just busy.
Had to go into town and then came back and tackled some H*******k. Just sitting having a cuppa watching the woodburner go out for the second time.
Very, very frosty here this morning but its melted now and its nice and sunny.
Finished painting first trellised planter. Might tackle the second one this afternoon. Keen to get them out of the conservatory but want them painted first.
I have two foxgloves to put in them, they are very strong and sturdy so I expect they will be ok to go in now.
Your purchases sound lovely Wintersong. absolutely love clematis and roses, such romantic flowers.
Congrats Clari, used to fundraise for education in the arts and green conservation, so know what you are up against, I'm sure you can do it.
Glad George is a bit better Bekkie, can I just add that I'm not pregnant either it was a historical story. Glad that's cleared up.
I have instructions to empty the freezer before I buy more food. Consequently we are having a ufo for tea. I thought it was chilli, but now its thawed a bit I think its stew.
Beckie, if you ring the chemist and tell them George is not well and you dont like leaving him, they'll probably deliver. Just dont elaborate on what George is.
Fidget that's my trick, thinking I can ID what's in the freezer and we end up with a surprise ..two cartons lifted out once, I had chilli and OH had pasta sauce on jacket spud, well he does like pasta
New range has arrived , but can't try out the gas hob because the pipe was too short. We'll buy a longer one on our way out this evening, cocktail party. At least my smaller saucepans don't wobble on it, did on old one and one gas didn't work properly on old one. Ovens are bigger too, Old one had one small oven and a rotisserie thing that I never used. New one has a grill, have really missed a grill. Really it is a present from my mother who died nearly 3 years ago.
Here is a photo specially for Dove, but it will probably be on top of this post, instead of underneath - which is where I am putting it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Just back from a plant-hunt at the local safari.
