Update on the T&M issues. I messaged them via their facebook page and they've offered to send me replacement seeds for my failed sweet peas.

    Result!!

Cute ducklings/goslings image. Hope the rest of them make it through the spring.

Jealous of the monster Gunnera !!

Hi chicky. I can't claim any credit for the gunnera. It was here when we bought the house, but the flowers this year have been massive.

Morning all! Hope nobodies delicates got frosty! Didn't take any chances here and put everything in the shed!

Sounds like we mostly have gardening weather today image

Glad you're feeling better Dove, have a lovely time by the seaside!

Sorry about the loss of some of your ducklings Hosta! Maybe buy Mrs Mallard a baby monitor? Think the goslings will be OK, I certainly wouldn't mess with a mother goose!

Hope everyone has a lovely day image

Morning Wonky - have a lovely day and give your smashing hubbie a big hug from his MIL image

Hosta, in my extensive experience of mallards, they are notoriously irresponsible parents, they may just about be able to rear two ducklings to maturity - but possibly just the one ........... but even with that track record, there still seems to be no shortage image  Lovely family of Canada geese - Wonky's right - they're much better parents than mallards. image

    Hello all!  image

Bet you've got a job for life, Edd, if you want it.  Dry stone walling is a wonderful skill - congrats!

Do you feed your gunnera, Hosta?  It's amazing!

Hope the exam-takers are remaining calm... bet we can all remember that sinking feeling, however old we are!

    Glad you're feeling better, Dove.

Sun here, and I've run out of compost.  I feel a walk to the GC coming on, with a large rucksack.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

hiya Dove, glad you're feeling better.

Woknky, I was wondering if Mr Goose might be part of the decline in ducklings?

Liri, I do nothing to the gunnera. It's mostly underneath the water on the edge of the lake. It just does its own thing.

Hosta, think if we know our Beatrix Potter, more likely Mr Fox! He's the one in the waistcoat that has a wink and smile for young duckings like Leslie Philips! image A real charmer but not to be trusted!

I first saw them on Saturday and they were so tiny I reckon just a day or two old, I can't imagine they've made it off the water yet.

Mr Fox did stand and stare at me whilst I was on the mower last evening. I headed straight towards him and he actually sat down!! the cheek. He let me get to about 50m from him before he casually headed off .

    Yup Hosta, 'Fraid so!

And what you didn't hear him say to your ducklings was 'I'll be seeing YOU later!' And with a wink he was gone!......until you were indoors! And then I reckon he kept his word. Don't feel bad, its not your job to parent ducklings, baby foxes need food too, altogether sing with Elton!....'the. Circle of life' image
