Yeah, thanks All. Had a small bowl of soup, and got a big tick for flavour. Then shower and lazing in front of TV until I can't keep my eyes open. Him too. American ninja warrior, master chef UK, and tour of Spain bike race, and that'll just about do it, I think. night all!
Just dropping in to say I'm about to post the results of the Which survey on cat deterrents, on a new thread - so many people ask what works to scare them off, that I thought some genuine research results might be useful.
Hope the knee passes muster, Hosta.
Steady there, Pat - you need some R&R before getting back to chopping wood, I reckon!
Hope that meeting is better than you expect, Chicky.
Looks like Cornwall here... for the moment...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Another 2 months off work and the hip xray shows signs of developing osteo-arthritis in my left hip and a cyst forming in under the cartilage.. Gee thanks.
Hugs from me too Hosta. I have arthritis in my left hip, but not the cyst. Not ready for a replacement yet. Paracetamol and Ibuprofen help when it's bad, but it's not bad all the time.
Wretched horses escaped this morning. Not their fault really, a tree fell down on the fence in last nights storm. I opened the opposite paddocks gate as there was some good grass there and we set off in search. When we got back they were calmly eating grass in the paddock as those they'd never been anywhere.
Here they are in May before I lent Lena, the grey on the right, to the 16yr old girl.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
They look lovely Lizzie and so does the meadow, I am aiming for something like that next year at the entranceway. I have just retrieved Shadow from a sneaky escape, 1st time for ages and he hadn't got far thankfully.
Hosta that sounds painful and frustrating, all that free time and yet limited what you can do. How have work taken the news? Hope they are kind with you.
Feeling a bit fed up today, bit wet and a pile of i*****g to do. Charlie back at school so seems like summer is over. Also, even though I wasn't expecting any contact my sister and brother both failed to acknowledge Charlie's birthday, just brings the hurt back to the surface, all so unnecessary. Considered writing again but I know it will get me nowhere so best just to accept the situation and move on.
Anyway, sun trying to come out and i*****g pile is much smaller than earlier - ever onwards, chin up and all that.

Morning all
Hope everyone's well and problems get sorted out. Happy September!
I'm hoping for an Indian summer in a few weeks when I've got my new engine
Won't be going as far as Cornwall this year but all the same...
Morning all.
Partly cloudy with the odd bit of sun. Doesn't look that warm , hey ho.
Took OH 6 1/2 hours to drive to Hants yesterday. Double the normal journey.
I've got the Doc calling in an hour for the latest on the knee.
I've got so much to do, I don't know where to start. Cuppa tea sounds like a good option though.
Hope the meeting goes well Chicky ,and take it easy Pat, and Mr Pat.

More coffee being drunk here - waiting for lorry to take car to garage - as it's a straight tow job they could only give me a 3 hour window.
Good luck re knee Hosta
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Just spoken to the Doc.

But it's as well to know these things so we can take as many preventative measures as possible ..... Kettle's on

Sadly DD and others, you can't choose your family.
