They hunt deer, wild boar, foxes, birds, but seem to have different days for different animals, nearly always Sundays, and limited numbers of some animals, like deer. Each village is allocated what they are allowed.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Understand that wildlife occasionally need to be culled in a humane way but I really don't like the idea of people enjoying the process and calling it sport.
Dull and miserable here, had some sun earlier but to gone now. Still keeping my cold to myself so haven't been to visit mum, friends or family. On Nanna duty tomorrow but as they game me the cold that's OK.
Have spent far too much time deciding how much money I'm going to be spending on the garden this year and planning what I would like to do. If I won the lottery I'd definitely disappear for the whole of January somewhere sunny and tropical.
Oh dear Lesley, id be miffed about that too, but i suppose theres nothing to be done, will there be any good points to having the school? I suppose its better than a busy shopping center or similar
Vile afternoon here, just had a heavy snow storm when i was out with the dog, of course it stopped as soon as we got in!
BL, stay safe, away from those huntsmen, thats as much as i can say on that without having a rant!
Yvie, get better soon! Im very impressed you have a plan of how much you will spend on the garden, will you stick to your budget?
Dove the crackling vanished, I was smacking fingers with a spoon it did not stop them.
LesleyK I got goose bumps reading that, a very long time since I put anyone in the mood!!! The pork was from the local butcher hung meat and so tender it vanished, one sandwich tomorrow will be it. Leeks Carrots Cabbage Parsnips Roasty's and Yorkshires stuffing got a bit well done though that vanished. Oh well happy faces as they disappeared into the snow, it really means it now, I am minding little sonny from next door a Jack Russell Corgy cross sitting there looking as if he owned the place a cheeky smile on his face, he is trying to wheedle my tomorrows sandwich meat out of the fridge, no chance.
Hi bekkie - there would have been a good point 20 years ago. I'm sure people still have children so will be good for them. It's really the disruption and noise for three years that bothers me. Oh dear - where did that time go when I'm only 27
One prediction for the year is that Yvie will be ever so slightly over budget. Me too, though I do ask for gardening/plant presents
Its not over budget....i call it unforseen essentials! If i sat down and thought what i was going to spend, i think it would make me ill! Head firmly in the sand
Ive thought of a good point Lesley, if ever you want to sell, they will be fighting to get into the catchment area, if its a decent school that is, and, you never know, you might have diet coke break builders!
Guys, help, ive just found a catterpillar on the floor in the hall, i think it was the one i saw on the curtian the other day, its rusty orange coloured witha faint chevron pattern down its back, it seems very taken with my scented geranium, do you reckon its a hawkmoth?
Oh Lesley I'd hate that too. We back onto fields would hate that being built on. The noise at break times Hope the roads won't be too near you with all the extra traffic going backwards and forwards to pick up/drop off children!.

I know that the wildlife has to be managed but it still makes me wince Lizzie. It sounds well organised if you know the rules
