Sounds a lovelyday chicky, Ill send the sun over for you, we have plenty in sheffield. Enjoy.

  • Good morning all.

Hope everyone is well and coping with the run up to Christmas.( I think we can mention it now).

Been promised sun today but still very overcast. I try to get out in the garden most days just for the feel good factor. Feeling a bit lazy today though but might feel better if the sun does appear.

Sad about your chicklets horse. It's just not right that owners can suudenly want him back after you've had him so long. We had a shetland on loan and after a couple of years the owners said they were going to sell him. Of couse we had to buy him  and have still got him. He's 30 now so just living a life of luxury in his retirement. Him and his buddy help me cut the grass and provide manure so I suppose he does earn his keep.

  • Oooh Chicky, sounds like a good day out, have a lovely time.

Done a few chores, washing etc. Changed my mind about xmas shopping, not in the right mood to fight the queues. Will go during week. So will start writing cards instead.

Kef, I might make maltesers cake for xmas, our family are not rich fruit cake fans.I'll save you a piece then. LBD would have been worn by then. imagel

Tried to start new thread about Phygelius. Didn't work. It took ages to give me a box to write in here. That's why I haven't posted recently, either I can't get to the site at all or no box to write in or when I type it leaves out letters all over the place.

Has anyone grown red phygelius? I don't know which variety mine is, but it's gone mad and taken over half the bed smothering other plants. Just dug up lots but it's roots have gone sideways and through other plant's roots, including through my lovely eremurus. The stems tend to snap off and the roots were quite hard to dig up. I should have tried to control it earlier, but it did most of the growth when it started raining in September, was still flowering earlier this month. Anyone else have this problem? Are all varities like that? It's pretty and flowers for a long time, but I would like a better behaved one.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
