Recovering from our hectic day yesterday by putting my feet up and watching a lovely film - Mrs Caldicott's Cabbage War - Pauline Collins and Peter Capaldi - absolutely priceless - watch it on Catch up or record it or something!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hi'yall, have first daffodils in flower and have seen first camellias in village garden. Weeks behind Verd. no doubt but Spring definitely in the air. Off to Venice tomorrow. Do they do gardens?
I need someone to lead me away from getting too excited re the garden and the fact that things are already started to move in the borders. Because I am limited to what I can do out there I have been spending lots of time planning which has lead me into the downward spiral of spending money.
Not only have I bought my prunus today but have just bought an obelisk and two trellised planters. Help before I become bankrupt!
Back from the freedom rally in Périgueux. It was all very peaceful, everyone gathered in the square by the post office and theatre, where there is a tree called "l'abre de la Liberty" "Tree of Freedom". People had put candles and pencils in the stones around the bottom of it.
Photos will probably turn up in the wrong order, they usually do.
It was all very calm, people were silent, there were outbursts of clapping and singing the French National Anthem. Then we all walked slowly up and down the high street, which is like a dual carriageway with grass, tree and flowerbeds in the middle. Thank you so much for all your support.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Have a lovely time Woody. So much to see you won't need gardens
Cupboard somehow didn't get sorted KEF - I went out instead. I have done some hoovering and floor steaming so I don't feel too guilty
I think the cupboard leads to Narnia anyway and it's snowy there....
Yvie - earmark the planters for sweet peas. That way you won't be tempted to buy something large and expensive to put in them
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Oh that wasn't there a moment ago BL. Smashing pix and fantastic turnout. Tells you everything you need to know about real people power.

Already got half barrels for the sweet peas, use them every year. Now I need to buy plants for the new planters.
