  • Have fun, DFA! Mmm, foodie friends- reminds me, a few friends and I are meeting up for sushi this evening, sake ahoy!

And KEF, haha! I was a carer for a very long time so weekends didn't mean anything to me either, a day off was a day off! Don't say sorry though ^_^

WS, you work in a salt mine? What an interesting job, what do you do?

Wind's picking up here too, I have things flying around the balcony. Will have to bring them in if it gets any worse- was going to repot some garlic that is outgrowing it's seed tray today but got carried away with homework. Will repot some in some tin cans that are hanging around- recycling, hooray! Bought some new herb seeds too- last year was a bit of a diasaster but I've learnt now! Watch me OWN these seedlings, haha!

Sorry Kef, I think it'll be fine, I'm a member of lots of forums and my face is all over the shop (I'm an artist online so I like to put a face to the pictures) and nothing's happened to me. You get the odd oddball here and there sometimes but if they contact you you just ignore them and report them so they're blocked.

Just heard from my son - his friend's wife has been rushed back to hospital with apulmonary embolism following emergency C Section a few days ago to deliver a baby son (my son is going to be his godfather).  Fingers crossed for her and the medics that are looking after her.

My son is looking after their 4 and 5 year old daughters as Daddy and Grandparents are with baby and mother in hospital.

He's never had to look after a child on his own before!!!  Although thankfully the girls know him well!  Hopefully the grandparents will return and do the night shift.

It's one of those occasions when I'm quite relieved I live getting on for 50 miles away! Phew!

@KEF, hey, enjoy your hard earned time off!image

I am the weekend baker, so its stupid-o'clock starts and on my feet all day, but I love my job.image

OH just got a back-dated promotion which more than covers my wages and offered to let me take early retirement (until I find a new job) but I just don't feel right not earning my keep. Plus I love to spend after penny pinching for +20yrs when children/house/pets/and everything else came first, so...at least I don't feel guilty when it all goes on my gardenimage

Have a good day tomorrow Dove.

Plumber came back to see boiler was OK. Says boiler is antiquated and I would save heating bills if I got a new one. But it will be expensive image

Fingers crossed for son's friend Dove.

Poor you lily.  Hope you feel better soon.  The big mistake was drinking coffee because there's not much stabiliser in it.image

Lovely photo Yvie and yes your daughter's do look like youimage.  RB I always look forward to your pics.  They do come out the right way when enlarged though.  I usually put the tablet on the table and walk round to the other sideimage

Thanks KEF, yes the tree has been dealt with and we can use the gate again.  Lots of trees nearby have come downimage.  Glad your Mum's damage is not too bad but it means lots more work for you.

Ouch Lily - sounds nasty.  Hope you're not too sore tomorrow (the day after is always worseimage).  Worrying news about son's friend Dove - fingers crossed it all turns out well.

lovely picture Yvie - what a gorgeous quartet you are!  And made me laugh seeing runny wielding a fork whilst doing handstands!  Loved Clari's article too - sounds like your museum is really catching people's attention - great that all your hard work and enthusiasm is paying off.

and so sorry about your tree damage LilyP and KEF ('s Mum) - hope the winds quieten down for everyone soon.

so much has been happening on here today !  Need a lie down now to gather my thoughts - just seen on the local news that a crash that happened about 2 minutes in front of me on my way to work resulted in a fatality and 2 critical.  It looked pretty dire, and it obviously was.
