Know the feeling punkdoc although I woke up to pouring rain this morning with no breaks in it, so gardening was out of the question.

Instead, I deliberated over cycling to the gym or walking. Obviously walking takes longer but I have an umbrella so opted for that in the end.

Felt like a mule after shopping in town, walking home with several bags of items and three books I bought with Christmas tokens: The Creative Shrub Garden by Andy McIndoe, What Plant Where Encyclopedia by the RHS and Garden Notebook by Beth Chatto. Very excited to get stuck into theseimage

Oh and the sun came out after I got homeimage

being outside always lifts my spirits ! Just had 40 mins in garden between squalls. Dogs made me laugh and appearance of snowdrops made me smile.

nice red rosy cheeks, blue toes! Worth it!

    Nice books Wintersongimage.

LilyP you're a real stalwart.  I only managed 15 minutes in the garden before I couldn't feel my fingers.  Hope you've got everything you can battened down.  I'm not looking forward to the forecasted winds tonightimage.

No sign of any snowdrops here yet but I only have a couple of small patches.

I woke this morning to hear the rain pouring, however the afternoon cleared up and the sun came out,

I took advantage of this and cleaned the GH glass. I had a look at the flower beds and found that the Crocosima ( McKenzie ) is already a couple of inches high, although the  Lucifer has yet to show.
