Well after spending all evening doing admin/accounting rubbish, the VAT return is at last done and ready to go to the accountant tomorrow.....yippee, I can relax for the next 7 weeks until the next one is due (but I've learnt my lessn and will bet keeping on top of it now so it can go statight away!)
Its a good job I spent a lovely afternoon in the garden to compensate - 4 hours of 'tidying'. Someone said the other day how good it feels to get back out and they we right, it felt great. On a mission now to get my veg patch sorted next weekend and/or the GH depending on the weather. So excited for the new growing season
Lovely pic Chicky, I've got to get more walking in.....2 stone to lose x
Hi folks! Hardly been at home the last few days but just had a bit of a catch-up on here.
Fidget - your recipe for erythronium planting sounds great. I have no trouble with 'Pagoda', apart from the slugs' delight in shredding the leaves. A small potful planted on the shady side of a cornus alba 'Elegantissima', six years ago, now covers getting on for a square metre. But I can't persuade the bog standard E. dens-canis to flower at all, in a similar position, though its leaves are beautiful, healthy and spreading. Anyone know anything about depth of planting? It's the only thing I can think of which might be wrong.
No gardening here. Frost all day. Plus I've been in York...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
We had a frost earlier -2C in the back garden, but it's all thawed now and the temp is rising. Apparently some of you up north are going to get some storms later in the week, so batten those hatches down in plenty of time.
Our Lovely Builder is still poorly so won't be here until Wednesday, but the electrician is coming to fit an extractor fan in the bathroom, so a degree of chaos is expected here today!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Charlie off on his travels, he's so excited, I'm a nervous wreck, the whole house is going to be gleaming when he gets back, anything to keep my mind off him.
Good luck to everyone back at the office today, going to be a long week.
Despite the mess Dove I wish I could have a lovely builder for a week or so, my list of jobs is getting longer, OH did manage to move a shelf over the holidays but that was about it.

Too many chocs still here to start tomorrow
I'll get them to hide everything 'naughty' for a while and then beg to know where it all is
