I'm back from shopping with son - he has new jeans for his birthday We had lovely lunch in Carluccio's - I had seafood linguine and a white wine and soda
Flippin' cold and windy out there - BBQ chicken quarters and jacket potatoes in the oven to have with some sweetcorn for supper.

Evening all, completely lost track of the threads on here today, lottery winners, Daily Mail (wash your mouths out), lost inheritance, must be mine, and vodka and amber nectar. In the middle of all that BL running around with sparkly stuff & brandy, not to mention mince pies.
Must have had too much wine at lunch (again), Christmas has a lot to answer for
Had a lovely lunch, small restaurant, small staff but beautiful food and piping hot, even the plates, always a good sign. We did the Flower Quiz that was on here a bit back in teams of four, great fun, top score 21 out of 30, not a very bright lot, one lady professed she only knew Latin terms so quiz was beneath her.
Also met a lady who recently adopted two rescue retrievers and knew of another one needing a home. Been e-mailing the rescue centre this evening and as long as it it is not too far away might go and have a look - I know that will be fatal - will fall in love with it straight away. Would love a dog but conscious of the mess ( we are a guest house after all) and also don't fancy finding big holes in my best flower bed or poops for that matter - all in the training I suppose, set out the house rules from the start - right??
Will keep you all posted - any advice welcome.

Did someone mention alcohol needing to be consumed quickly ? I'm available as I've kindly vacated the lounge so OH can watch footie
Had a visit late this afternoon / evening from an elderly chap in his 80's who comes once a year and has done so for 12 yrs with a card and some chocolates for me, I knew him via work when I supported him & his wife. I went to the gate with him and asked where he had parked? He stopped driving in the summer and had walked half a mile and intended walking back up the hill Bit of a battle but he let me drive him home. Don't know if I'm happy or sad.
