Just bought a small Christmas tree with roots, worms and slugs.Always wanted one to fetch in year by year. This year we are not having a big tree, making do with a tatty artificial one, as we are unsure when things will happen, so took my chance and persuaded OH that one in a pot would be lovely.
Wrapped up my inner GH with bubble wrap and clothes pegs (they have so many uses) so ready for the extra cold (I think).
Hope you didn't pay extra for the worms and slugs, Matty!
I've been cutting the brambles down this morning at the bottom of the field. They've grown so much this year. I don't feel so guilty about sitting down in the afternoon if I have an hour or two in the garden.
If Lyn and Dove have a meet next year can I come too? I live near Perranporth. I let my cottage out in the summer and live in a caravan for a few weeks.
Very chilly here this morning with thick frost, hoped sun would warm it up a bit, but went grey and cloudy and stayed cold. Did a little bit of measuring up in the garden, couldn't get motivated to do anything too much like work. In now for feet up and coffee. Winter, who needs it? Fingers crossed for a bit more in the way of sun tomorrow.
Winds strengthening, horizontal rain and only forecast to worsen overnight. Winter has arrived this week. Dogs thrilled to be home but you get one refuses to go over the doorstep. Sensible chap I say!
Christmas will start on Friday. Tree having good long drink.
Hope everyone stays safe in this atrocious weather.

We could all meet up at a lovely garden somewhere - as long as there's cake I'm sure OH won't mind Verdun could come along too if he's brave enough - OH will be there to make sure we ladies don't scare him too much
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Spent the afternoon at the hospital with a friend who was having tests and meetings with surgeon and anaesthetist before her op. Was to help with the language, but her French was actually pretty good.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
