Love both sil and bil.  Probably because we're not relatedimage.

Very hard for you Lizzie to lose your parents within a short time.  How sad about your brother. Christmas is always the time when we miss people the most. You do have a lovely family who support each other most of the timeimage

Lovely to see you bekkieimage. How are you?

  • Hi all, just a quick peek after running club, wasn't too bad tonight I actually ran faster than a girl who is usually a couple of yards ahead of me - must be getting fitter - or maybe she was feeling tired. image Worked out all sister stress anyway.

SGL you sound like me, too soft and then when I finally put my foot down and said enough was enough seems I am the beastly one.

Anyway, very pleased to be wearing the 1st ever cardi I knitted for the the first time - Bitter nitter where were you when I needed you??? I say cardi, but I just cannot fathom instructions for attaching sleeves so I have turned it into a gilet. image Tbh, wouldn't go out in public in it. Santa hat seems so much easier. image

Full day of baking tomorrow, will risk the mincemeat with added brandy. Got Xmas tree stall and choir to do on Friday (feeding choir not singing in it) and then Telethon cake stall and vin chaud stall volunteers to provide for on Saturday. Looks like it might even snow, so best crack on with my hat. image

Goodnight all and thank you to all who made me feel better about sister. image

I've still got plum and apple mincemeat from Staceys recipe last year. It had loads of brandy in, stored ok. It makes a good bread and butter pudding with brioche from Lidl, very festive. I think there's another eight jars in the cupboard.image

Was it Jamie Oliver who had a recipe for mincemeat vodka?

Sounds like Jamie but I've never tried it.  Much prefer the sound of Panda's chilli chocolate vodka but don't think she's got much left nowimage.

Stacey's mincemeat recipe sounds great.  Thinking of her.

Fidget, that bread and butter pudding sounds yummy.

Fell asleep during Masterchef, woke up for The Apprentice.

    Night all.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • DD, yes think we are alike, have only stuck up for myself once.....about 5yrs ago.....and yes it was me that was the bad guy. Fortunately my lovely late BIL stuck up for me (which got him in trouble too image)  Now I just let her get on with it, she knows she needs my help.

    ooh fidget, pudding sounds yummy.

Hi bekkie, good to see you.
