Chicky , the big fat furry bud is flower, the smaller bud below is leaf. I'd cut the stem back to the flower bud so all energy goes into it. Leaves will form later.
Very misty here today. Forecast is for it to clear quickly then a scorching (for mid April) 18C .
OH has promised me his help to-day, but he's seeing an acupuncturist this morning re tennis elbow. Maybe that'll put him out of action? Has anyone else tried this?
I'll carry on splitting Hostas to-day.
Are you asking whether anyone else has pleaded tennis elbow to get them out of Under Gardener Duties?
Splitting Hostas? Splitting Hosta's what???
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Today it'll mostly be grey with a sprinkling of yuk.
Actually nothing to do in the garden today. Grass is too short and too wet to cut, we thankfully had a good long autumn so I managed the last cut for the first time since moving in. So no need for an early cut for once. Might fish for a trip to a GC, if I can't persuade the OH to go to glendoick, it'll have to be Dobbies..
Hosta i used to have acupuncture from the NHS physio man for my shoulder, hurt like hell but the next day was marvellous, apparently everyone reacts differently, depends what sort of acupuncture they do too, this chap didnt use those tiny needles you see on telly! Despite all that i would still recomend it
Good morning all long time no speak! Sorry shifts at work long and hard and then Easter zoomed by and here I am been following you all though when I catch up at bedtime and love all your pics. pretty much finished as much as I can decorating wise indoors for now and have started on the gardens.
