Have taken the car to the garage for servicing and replied to lots of emails. Some days there are none, then they all come at once. My family is busy at the moment, daughter just moved house, son moving next week, SIL and BIL trying to sell theirs, son on hols but their baby has had a virus, friend's daughter getting married etc!
That looks a lovely place for a wedding.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
It's been very fine today, went into town to buy a paint roller on a long pole for painting the hallway. ..its been a very slow work in progress because our ideas keep getting spoilt by details for example, we currently have a dado rail which is painted on the lower half and papered on the top. It's been a good number of years like that so we got as far as painting the bottom and last week chose a lovely new paper, sorted we thought.
Then we set to work stripping the old when we realised our task. ..We have a split level staircase, the type with the little landing in the middle. Standing on the landing is a height of one and a half rooms so muggings here had to get up the ladder which was very high and that was before stripping wallpaper.
How did OH do it before? Well he probably balance between ladder and stood on the stairs railings when needed! !!! I was shocked but he was also younger and more athletic then
Suffice to say, hiring scaffolding for indoors is not going to happen at those prices so...its paint the top with a long pole and paper the lower half
Guess who gets that job tomorrow? OH is busy with 7 contracts no wonder he's asleep early every night
Re bendy ladder, I have one! It's indispensable in the garden and has a platform for safty but its too short unless we fully extend at the expense of safety
The painting option is fine and I get to keep my neck
Hi, made it down eventually, heavy traffic and rain slowing things down but I beat Hosta. Love the look of that agapanthus. Since arriving I've taken Dad to the dentist, Mum to the Doc's (not the punk one) and he was quite dishy, though I'm sure Pdoc is dishier. Keep looking outside and thinking about deadheading, weeding, edging, etc, but I'm knackered. A good strong drink and an early night is on the cards.

Evening all,
Whew,
What a journey home.
We had the most wonderful, tiring weekend "up country"
We left Surrey at 11.30 this morning and fought with hideous levels of traffic and torrential rain, we made it home at 6.10.
Those agapanthus do indeed have sticky labels. 9 to be precise, including a ( rather expensive ) stunner called Black Magic.
Will pot them into bigger pots this week.
Ooh gorgeous hosta, the agapanthus that is

Indeed so jo47
The constant drone of the M25 and being under the flight path of both Gatwick and Heathrow.
Give me silence broken only by birdsong any day.
