    Hello

I found a large pot of daffs and purple crocus underneath some shelving at the back of the GH - no recollection - it was a lovely thing to fond thoughimage

DD garden looks great, so many 'areas' a lot of hard work

Not a great hosta fan - I did have a ,ovely glaucous bluey/green one once - cannot remember what it was though.

Hoping OH will plant new clematis for me later - see you

Rest of the Dahlias potted up, except for a few that I put directly into the ground, in early May.

Much warmer now and I think it is getting hot later in the week, shame I am off to Scotland, probably be snowing up there.

A bit of horizontal weeding this pm, I think.

How can you lie there and think of England

Oh dear Pdoc, that's what you get for living the jet set life image

Thanks bekkie, you always say the dearest things image

LesleyK, hope you get what's on your list, you deserve the treat!

I've been back from my big GC visit for about an hour, just checking on PPPs in the garden, one or two already have their exact place and I'm very happy with my haul,

Penstemon Husker Red x3, Polemonium caeruleum x3, (Jacob's ladder to you and me) and I also got a bit of a thing for Iris at the moment, so I ended up getting, Chantilly, Blue Shimmer, Hariette Halloway and Black Swan, that's yellow, speckled purple, pale blue and dark purple respectively.image I've been given iris before by gardeners but they never turned out to be nice colours so its really nice to choose my own image

PLease give growing tips anyone whose got the penstemon or Jacob's ladder, I've never had these before and I remember BL mentioned the Penstemon one time because I liked it so much I googled itimage

must buy cushions, must buy cushions must buy cushions

  • Jacobs ladder does what it wants. I've got three. One is twice the size it was when I planted it. One hasnt moved and the third looks like it has gone through a shredder.

Been on Mum duty and helping a friend out so no gardening today.

Starting to feel cool so fleece back on some GH stuffs.

I have Canna envy but need to plant what I already have.

Beans & beetroot need starting off, and peas planting, also a couple of rows of radish to sown between the garlic and shallots. Hope it's nice tomorrow.

Wintersong, Jacob's Ladder is really easy in this garden - not fussy about soil or position, even happy in deep shade.  Leaves are pretty and flowers are gorgeous.  You'll probably get seedlings too.  Usual colour is clear blue, but I sometimes get white, blue-centred white or dark blue.  All good!  image

Re the GC visit:  I'm happy to report that the sticky-label syndrome is alive and well in the Pennines...  image  In addition to the compost and fertiliser I'd intended to buy, an Erysimum 'Bowles Mauve' spoke to me (forgot to take cuttings last year, and my 3-year-old plant bit the dust last winter).  Then a pot of parsley seedlings jumped aboard, followed by 3 small plants of Meconopsis 'Lingholm' (truly a bargain at £1.50 each...)  OH was out when I got home so the new arrivals have settled in without my having to explain sticky-label-itis.  image

More wild flower seeds are germinating, including yellow rattle, which will be very useful on the bank to keep the grass under control.  Also sweet cicely, which I love to use when cooking rhubarb or gooseberries.  image  I think I could put a few plants in the wood...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
