    Morning all.

Nearly came to blows with my sister earlier this year over brother with Alzheimer's, but it's sorted now - I hope. We are usually best of friends, but that episode hurt a lot. She doesn't speak to brother.

Of to Périgueux to see son and buy more Chrissie presents.

    Morning all image

Had a lovely day yesterday with my friend, visited the Christmas market and bought some deccies and pressies. We are revisiting today as we both need to revisit the flavoured vodka man image The Chilli Chocolate vodka was very, shall we say, warming image Which is needed as, whilst the sun is shining it ain't warm image

  • Morning folks.

Beautiful morning here, still, frosty and sunny.  image  Must find an excuse to go for a walk...  Thanks for kind comments re photos.  No skill required in taking them, just "looked and clicked"!  As you can imagine, I spend quite a bit of time there looking out of the window.  Lots of waders, geese, herons, swans etc and the odd seal to watch, as well as the changing tides and light.

So sorry to hear of family frictions.  Impossible to keep everyone happy whatever you do...  hugs to you all.

DD, good luck with the mincemeat!

Re Christmas:  I had a shock on Thursday when I crossed back to the mainland, finding shops playing jingly music and loads of tinsel and tat in the windows.  Nothing like that on the island - not in November, at any rate - and I'd forgotten how little time there was before Christmas!  Must get my skates on!  image

  • Christmas has suddenly come around here too. Not sure about mincemeat now, recipe says leave it for 2 weeks before using, will have missed the school fete by then - do you think they will notice the difference? image

We are off to our local xmas market on Saturday, the running club are holding a vin chaud stall, have to show my support of course! Chilli chocolate vodka sound enticing too. image

Glad to hear not alone with family troubles, although of course wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Judo run this afternoon, hoping to make some good progress with my Santa hat ready for Xmas tree stall duties on Friday whilst 'watching' judo. image Next week they are having a 'challenge the parents week' great, just what I needed - not. image

Love the sound of chilli chocolate vodka Pandaimage

DD - it doesn't look as though you have a minute to call your own nowadaysimage.  Put a splash of brandy in the mincemeat and everyone will think it's perfectimage.  Sorry that you have family problems but probably best to let sleeping dogs lie for a while and then try againimage.  Sympathy for all going through similar problems.  Don't know whether I'm lucky or not being an 'only'image

The French won't know the difference with mincemeat, but they'll like the brandy!

Busy day again, lunched with son, DIL and baby. Did all the errands and have finished shopping for presents for 3 of my children and their families. Took DIL's bike to be repaired, she thought she'd cycle to work and someone nicked the back wheel. Anti-theft chain was on the front wheel. Périgueux was a nightmare, market day and Christmas shoppers, took me nearly an hour to cross from the west side to the east side and it's not a big town.

  • DD, I'm sure it doesn't matter if you can't let the mincemeat "mature".  If you make more than you need, you can always leave a few jars maturing for next year...  image

Another working day done, and shopping done too. Not nearly so cold today - think it got up to about 6. Positively springlike  image

Lovely pix Liri - but I'm slightly biased when it comes to our scenery imageimage

DD - My sister apologised to me a few years ago for being horrible to me when we were teenagers. We get on well enough but I live an hour away from her - that definitely helps image  My two girls get on well even though they're completely different in almost every way. I hope that continues  image

Off for a quick look round before I organise dinner

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Good evening all! Wow, it's been a few weeks. These last few weeks I've been concentrating on uni work, not much time for gardening I'm afraid. How is everyone tonight?

  • Hi BitterK - good to see you image hope the uni work is going well.  Think everyone here is ok - usual ups and downs of course, but that's life isn't it?

Panda, glad you and friend are having a lovely time - warming vodka sounds .... medicinal image

Hi Fg image - not much warmer down here image
