DD - tricky situation. Hope it works out. You know what they say - you can choose your friends....image

Diddly darn chilly here but much more pleasant than the murky damp stuff. Don't think it got above about 4 here today and had to scrape the car this morning, but the sun and blue skies always help.

Suppose I should go and find some dinner form somewhere image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • DD, hope all goes well re letter to sis. Know how you're feeling, mine is a older than me and she can be a right pain in the b** sometimes. Get  really hurt at times. As been said you can choose your friends image

Went xmas shopping with OH today got a few bits, but rather a waste of time. Could have got it nearby rather than going to a large shopping cente image

Hi there - playing catchup after my weekend away, but think we are now shipshapeimage.  Had a fantastic timeimageimage.  More wooden christmas decorations for the house - just need to find some more ledges/tables/windowsills to put them on.  I looooove Christmastime - which is all of December in this houseimage

Hope sis responds well DD - horrid when families fall out.

    ((hugs)) for Dove.

warming thoughts for Clari and Fairy - gluwein is a good cure !  (Minus the wein in Fairy's case ....not sure whether hot glu will be quite the same, but add plenty of cloves and fruit and you won't be able to tell)

and congrats to Mr and Mrs Edd ..... A forkers baby imageimageimage

  • Hi Chicky, glad you had a good time. Sounds great fun, hope to go next year.  Pics please of your wares image

Thank you for the pic the other day, looked pretty.

  • Spent most of day in Village Shop, preparing for our Christmas Shopping event this evening. This went very well, with music, carols, food wine etc. However as we were "celebrating" a house in the village was burning to the ground. What can one say?

DD, read the posts. Saw you are looking for mincemeat. Never found it here, you have to make your own or buy it in the UK. Ask your OH, or is he going by plane? I would have got you some, I don't have enough left now to give out any more. I get it for friends. Couldn't believe how cheap it was in Tesco.

More Christmas shopping tomorrow. Must do my Christmas cards, but need to write the Christmas letter first.

Glad you had a good time, Chicky.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Partner took me to Meadowhell (my truck is too high to fit under the barrier - "the shame!"). image

Just so we're clear on this; I still really really hate shopping. Even if it means getting to visit the Lego store. image

  • DD, it's really easy to make mincemeat, and doesn't take too long.  Will you convert your French friends to English cuisine, I wonder?  image

Not a lot of time - trying to catch up with a month's backlog of post etc - but I've just uploaded some photos from Scotland to the computer, so here are a few...

    image

This was a couple of days after I arrived, when the weather was wonderfully still...

...and this was the sunset, the same day...

Just as it was growing light last Thursday (the day I left), I took this one out of the front window.

Getting back into the swing of things here.  It helps to find things in the garden have been quietly doing their thing while I've been away!  Winter jasmine, planted in the autumn against the garden wall, is looking very pretty, and bulbs at its foot are poking through the soil.  image

Delighted to find Mum is in excellent form, and physically is very well, though her speech is now badly affected by the Alzheimers.  However much you trust the carers it's still a worry to leave her for an extended period, and I found myself feeling unnecessarily guilty while I was away.

    Time for bed...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Liri those photos are absolutely stunningimage.  You should post them again on Camera Corner so that more people will see them. Glad that your Mum is doing OK.

Woody - what an awful thing to happen and I hope no-one was injuredimage

Fairy we had quite a hard ground frost yesterday morning and the grass was white all day even though it was sunny.  Looks as though we are getting it again. (Shivery face).  Wrap up extra warm for work.  You too Clari or you will be exhausted with all the star jumpsimage

Glad you had a lovely time chicky and are now in Christmas modeimage

Good luck to everyone struggling with present shoppingimage.  I've only got a couple to get now but absolutely no ideas. I'll go back to bed and hope inspiration strikes in a dreamimage
