Haven't had a beer since before April Mrs G!

  • Evening all, just a quick peep in (and a quick slurp of vino) before I 'do' dinner for the guests, it's their last night. Rocket & Basil Salad with Melting Tomatoes starter, Pork Fillet with Lentils and Wine & Mustard Sauce and Gratin Dauphinois with a sneaky bit of butternut squash in and finally Tarte au Citron, a la Mary Berry!

Having a day out tomorrow at a food tasting festival, little boy at his friends for the day so feel 'free', hoping to squeeze in a trip to Apple festival too. image

But then Sunday seriously back in the garden, got lots to catch up on.

Must dash, think they are down!

    Enjoy your evening all. image

Clari the GC nearest to me has plenty of garlic selections. Bit far for you to go for a 1.65 quid bulb image If you are about and touring it's the one named after a stately home with the largest frontage in Europeimage

Lizzie I forgot to say that I hope your arthur feels better today image  Also hope Fairy hasn't wrecked herself image

I've taken beans down, been weeding & deadheading and have started my 4th Dalek for winter compost stuffs, handy as not too far from backdoor. Old GH cleaned ready for pots that need overwintering.

The last of the nice fingernails have gone and as per usual when in the garden I've got scruffy image Fliss Kendal looked cute with a blob of dirt on her nose, or so OH tells me, I just look like a scruff image

Hope Dove enjoyed last night's WA party image

Archie your comment earlier about road kill creased me image Hope you've remembered that it is National Curry week image

Hope all have a great evening especially the salt miners image

Verdun, hope you get all the paperwork sorted tomoz'. Been lovely here, not many days like it from now on, expect you will have have quite a few more so will be able to do things in your garden. Hugs to mum.

Just in, dinner cooking. KEF - managed to pace myself so not completely wrecked. Well, not any more than normal  image

Lesley - if only it was 'the precious' I was digging up I wouldn't mind. Somehow an arrangement of kerbstones and bricks might not cut the mustard as a display image

Feel that I'm getting somewhere with it now. image

Everyone's been very busy. DD's dinner sounds good - much better than what I'm having that's for sure.

Not had a curry in ages. Girls aren't that keen. Perhaps archie could combine one with the roadkill and  have a Badger Biriani imageimage

Evening all - just back from a break in Cyprus , and a long break from this Forum - hope everyone is well and had a good summer?

When I left Cyprus the gardeners were just starting to plant the next lot of petunias and bedding plants - I'm going to spend the weekend clearing the remnants of mine.

Only a few hours away by plane, but a world away horticulturally!

Lovely to see you Pentillie, hope you're well and have had a good break image

You weren't there when I posted Verd. Glad you're making some progress. Endless form filling is very wearing so take it easy. We need you at your best with your rubbish jokes.. err I mean your terrific jokes... to keep us going through the bad weather image

Had a nice balti though, you shoudda said n I'd have saved you some.

Pentillie, hope you enjoyed Cyprus, welcome back, hope all is well for you and family.

Verd, any paperwork stinks so extra hugs to you...then come n do mine pls

Garden grafters - well done! I'm still doing almost most and will reap the 'rewards' in spring, o oh! Have tried more support for liquidambar tree today and think it'll be ok if it holds. Don't want too much support as it needs movement to gain strength ( I think???)

Garden grafter - like that for a new forum name - but won't suit me at the mo!
