Cheering up reading your posts, thanks folk, keep it coming....would still rather be gossiping in a narrow isle in SM than here at that 4 letter word beginning with W !
I'm also enjoying fidget's diving adventures. I read once that all seasnakes are poisonous but their mouths are so small the only place thet can bite you is between the finger and thumb. I wouldn't like to put it to the test though
Morning all! Got to go to Factory Shop to buy more walking boots (necessary where I live!) cos mine have a hole, before I can take advantage of the warm dry weather to top up my paths with bark chippings/clear up strawberry bed/weed veg beds etc etc... At least I don't need to weed with a pickaxe any more. I feel for you, Fairy and Steephill...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I'm in the middle of cutting down a lot of the 20 year old, never been pruned, honeysuckle by the front door. Keep having to come in as I keep getting bits in my eyes. It's a tangle of dead wood in the middle. It's helped block the guttering on the porch so that water pour down when it rains and there are logs stored there.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hmm. I'm all for supporting my local independent garden centres but the trouble is by the time I've driven to one I'm then "local" to another one which puts me then "not that far away from" another one...
Four independent garden centres later I didn't find any garlic that I wanted but I did end up with:
2 x wild chamomile plants
100 x electric onion sets (grew these last year and they were so tasty!)
Clari - that's how they catch you isn't it? I only have one local GC and I don't go that often. Those three garlic bulbs were expensive The Abu Hassan tulips would be very smart with the dark Negrita ones. That's a combination I was going to try but I've not bought any bulbs this year. I've still got all the potted ones from last year to get into beds and borders.
Here's this morning's haul Liri, along with three bricks. I now have a set of four pieces of those kerbstones/steps. Still got about 4 sq metres to dig and level so there could be more
Lunch has been had so I'll go and shift some more of those slabs and try and get the edging done before the rain tomorrow. My green manure's arrived, so I'll be able to sow that once I've got the whole area prepped.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The tulips have been mixed (no honestly I knew that paper bag wasn't going to hold) amongst the strawberry bed and the first 50 onions straight into the ground (last time I had them in pots first).
Not entirely sure where the alliums and blues are going to go... they're a bit to big to use to nip over to Mrs G's while she's at work and sink them to spell out bum!
Now Clari there's asking for trouble and there's ASKING FOR TROUBLE Well done for getting everything in the ground already.
Fairy I know you're not planting but I hope that you dig up something precious Are you thinking about a rock garden now
If you haven't got them it's time to invest in safety glasses Lizzie. Better than a mask and flippers. I somehow don't think you'll come face to face with a seasnake.
Pam I find the underwater creatures fascinating but only on screen (wimp that I am)

Liri - I thought you'd need crampons
