Busy if they any sort of decent organisation they will understand your concerns for wildlife and your reasons for not cutting back, I would think thats a plus not a negative.
Decided enough is enough re aches and pains and booked a course of treatment with a remedial sports therapist. It's about the only thing I haven't tried. I had one session on holiday with a practitioner who advised me to give it a go.
Going out to hoe the borders today in case I can't move tomorrow.
BL, at the meeting the man said he understood that gardens are work in progress and wasn't expecting perfection. He was diplomatic but basically said that the inspectors in the UK were rather harsh and unforgiving, H&S being a major concern too but their organization was not in the least like that. His main criteria was that there was enough in the garden to see in 30 minutes so people were not disappointed after possibly travelling a long way. Your garden was so lovely and definitely 30 minutes worth to see, more like a full day. You can pick the day you wish to open too so that your garden is seen at it's best. I have no doubt he will be well and truly impressed.
I am working on 'project rose garden' at the moment, one has to have a lot of vision, but I am happy so far; a work in progress picture in the true sense of the
word:
I do hope the farmer uses his manure in the background before next summer!

P.S. ignore the rocks, they are going to be in the much debated rockery - on the other side of the garden - eventually. Have plans for hollyhocks and delphiniums there behind a little bench with ironwork rose work and gorgeous scented climber on trellis above. Nothing wrong with my imagination, it's the reality that seems to have problems.
