Lesley don't worry they leap out the way - just don't let your grass get rudely long like I've done and you shouldn't have any problems seeing them!

I don't let the grass get long Clari - OH doesimage  He's not allowed to weed in the borders because I lose too many plants so his job is the grass.  It has to be because I can't start the mower.  If we had one with a key ignition I would have to do that as well.

Sounds as though the job is going really well and you are enjoying it.  I hope it becomes a permanent  positionimage

Hi everyone, really missed gardening today, I have some seeds to sew and the weather has been lovely.  Been cuddling poorly grandaughter all day shes getting spottier by the minute.  Arranged to pick up eldest grandaughter 10 mins early so I would miss all the babies in pushchairs at the gate.  Just having a cuppa now that Hubby has come home and taken over baby duty.  If you could see me trying to get her to take calpol you would really laugh.  Ive tried everything including the train in the tunnel and she just looks at me with lips firmly pursed.  Ive had to sneak a bit in in between orange segments.

Dont blame you Lesley, I never let hubby near the borders unless I'm standing over him pointing to whatever needs removing.  I knew I was onto a loser when he asked me when the chlamydia flowered (he meant clematis).

Hello all. Sorry im not upto speed on all your comings and goings again.

David Austin book has just arrived so sitting with a coffee and rose porn ( ok hoping someone will bring me a coffee..). I've only got one inherited rose and a new climber I bought this year so I've a lot to learn. Think I might be tempted , when I've researched the space to put it! Another major replanting/rearranging/messing about action plan to keep me busy! image

Yvie I'm glad to hear that GD will take something now - you'll just have to come up with other actions/noises.  Enjoy your coffee break.  Between you all you're coping and in a few days she'll be back to normalimage

I wouldn't know when the chlamydia flowered eitherimage

I found three lurkers in the courgette patch. Now if I'd been going for the biggest marrow competition I would be happy. I have a flower on the discovery apple, and last years brugmansia cuttings are flowering, despite not being fed and in too small a pot. Funny old year.

,books good, Lesley but website probably better as not EVERY rose is pictured in the book!

    hi gg.

Fidget, hi, should I be doing anything yet with brugmansia for next year?

It will need to go under cover, or you can take cuttings if it has stopped flowering. I usually do the cuttings when i cut them down in late october to go in the greenhouse.
