Thanks Gg.  I have kept at least three years worth of GW mags and if I had gone for every offer I would have killed a lot more plants by nowimage

I was thinking about where you could have a water supply at the station that couldn't be stolen. Is there any chance of a large tank (plastic or other) that could be partly buried in the ground to use as a dipping pond?  Only a thought as I don't know the layoutimage

  • My free Alliums from last months offer arrived yesterday, I was going to buy some anyway so that really was a good offer, I'm trying not to buy anything that isn't actually on my wish list!!  This month's offer is wallflowers, think I will give them a miss as my mum has given me Sweet William plants image

I really don't like this weather, 20c, grey and very very warm and stuffy......uurghhhh!!!

Can't remember when we last got up to 20c but it's still muggy.  I've been looking through catalogues and everything looks fantastic till you look at the size supplied and realise they're photoshopped to a degree. You have to have optimum growing conditions.

Just thought - I have the optimum growing conditions for creeping buttercups.

  • Really grey here too, got soaked walking the mutts! OL, its not my puppy, its the one i looked after before, he hasnt been too bad today, is asleep at the moment image, my baby is very jelous tho, not liking it at all! Never mind, he goes back tomorrow image

Verdun, we would have to fight for the walnuts, im the only one that likes them here too image, but im afraid i would choose a minty matchmaker over any other chocolate- tho your tounge does go a bit funny if you eat a box full in one sitting! image

Lesley, i cultivate creeping buttercups too, and when plants die, its not that you have killed them, its an experiment with conclusive results!image

GG, could you bury the waterbutt and get one of those bathwater pumps so you could use it? They would have to be hercules to get that out if it was full! image

SGL, you will have to have a birthday outing on another day, it seems to be a bot of a trend on here to have more than one birthday each year image

Good luck Chicky and chicklet image

BM, hope you arent working too hard! Just thought how much laundry you will have on monday! Id do it for you if you lived closerimage, isnt it a shame they dont make disposible bedlinen! image

Glad youre feeling better Yvie image

DD, i do hope youve washed your hands!image

Ok, brain empty now, sorry if ive missed anyone! image
  • Golly gosh Bekkie, an extremely efficient post (and only 3 spelling errors, I won’t count the punctuation) image

Like most people on here I read the posts, smile, or lol and then immediately forget who said what.

I do love it though, since leaving the UK lots of friends have started to drift off, used to get loads of e-mails, but just one or two now. Although sounds bizarre this forum stops me feeling lonely, such great help and support, gardening or otherwise.

Anyway, coffee break over (yes did wash hands, wasn’t that smelly actually) and of course I 2nd everything Bekkie says. image

  • You've been busy DD, I bet your garden is looking great now image

I'm always making typos, my stupid iPad autocorrects for fun and as for using the phone.....well I can't even see the screen properly to type!!

Well, my big boy is away doing his silver DoE final expedition and little man has just phoned to see if he can sleepover at a friends??   Tough decision image Dogs have been walked so when the overnight bag has been dropped off for little man it might just be wine time image

Hi folks, stopped raining for a while so I managed to get out and plant a few pansies and violas.  Run out of potting compost so have to call a halt for a moment.  Visited mum but shes not well at all, very miserable at the moment so spent an hour or so cheering her up.  Watched GW and a couple of episodes of Scandal, have really enjoyed this series.
