is my one weakness.  Who used to say that - was it someone on Cranford or Larkrise to Candleford, if I remember right they used to lots of 'one weaknesses'
post mistress in Larkrise to Candleford or as my son says(because we live in Cornwall) Launceston to Camelford.

Hi Folks,  Ive just finished digging out new beds so lots of room now for lots of new plants.  I am now officially knac****d.  I was dreaming about a lazy afternoon catching up on some TV progs when Firstborn called and announced that they were all coming over at about 3.30.  I have a feeling it will involved tea and staying over until tomorrow.  Mustn't complain, no Nanna Duty next week (half-term) so I need to get my cuddles in while I can.

I got a nice box of choccies for Valentines day (last night), no card as apparently they are 'A waste of money'.

To get my strength up for visitors I have eaten a second caramel custard doughnut and finished the rest of the choccies.  Purely for energy you understand.

I loved Larkrise as well RB.  It was Julia Swa(something) wasn't it who played the postmistress.

Hope that greenhouse goes together OK Bekkie, are you sure it's not alll the gin you drink that causes that shakingimage only joking, hope you feel better soon.

Hope Shadow is feeling better, at least those with pooches will be getting lots of cuddles on valentines day.

Need to lie down now and rest the back before the hoards descend.

  • Hello friends!

Lesley, thank you - afternoon tea was lovely, scones with jam & cream and all...  Couldn't move afterwards, went to sleep on the sofa in the evening  image

Bekkie, how right you are!  I've often explained to my OH that it's ok for me to spend money on the garden, because I never buy any expensive clothes, & don't drink or smoke...  image

Yvie, I'm trying hard not to be jealous...  I haven't been on grandma duty now for nearly a month, since the family moved to Ireland, and I'm missing my cuddles! image  We have to wait to be invited, as they need "settling in" time.  Hopefully they'll be missing us soon!

Unremitting drizzle today.  Visited Mum, who seems better (though still not coherent), did shopping, mended gardening gloves, sharpened loppers, shears, secateurs and knives.  OH now watching rugby.  Think it's time for knitting...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Liri, glad your mum seems better image I think you have earned some knitting time.  Yvie, I think you've earned a rest too image And tuck into those choccies, if there are any left image

We have the rugby on too - burly men with beards, and so many of them image Are they playing a game too?? image
