Sounds good to me Hosta - I ate lots of tagine when staing near Montmartre as an art student - for some reason it's not something I think of when cooking for guests, but it could well be just the ticket for this occasion - when we finally set a date. I've not tried the Waitrose tagine sauce, but as Waitrose is our 'village store' I'll grab a couple for the pantry!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Will you all please stop talking about food I'm starving but if I eat now I will spoil dinner as we are having it early due to grandchildren visiting. We could wait until they are in bed but I prefer to have everyone sitting round the table plus you only have to clean up once It's looking like steak, salad and baby pots cooked in the oven with salt, pepper and a little oil.
Verdun, when you talked about 'Getting a Restio today' I thought you had gone all spanish on us and that you were having a quite day lying in the garden, I bet it's 'el scorchio' down in sunny Cornwall. Does anyone else think we have had more than our fair share of blustery days this year.
Have planted my Taxus Standishii, it's looking a little lost. Got used to seeing the larger shrub there. Will need to check out what I can plant around it until it gets bigger. What a chore, will have to browse a bit of plant porn . That's if my grandaughters give me 5 mins this afternoon. They are visiting mum at the moment so it's nice and quiet.
Verdun did you spend all of that £6 on fish and chips?
Don't think the gala day here would quite compare with the Bakewell event Rb but it was a shame for the kids. You've made me hungry again so I think I'll raid the freezer for ice-cream.
Enjoy your walk tomorrow Fairy. The forecast looks much better.
I know this isn't the gardening tips thread but here's one for Jo: Wear a front door key round your neck on a piece of string in future or you'll end up doIng yourself a mischief.

Jo

Rain has gone off - sort of - hell of a wind though.
Off to sort my gear for tomorrow now and have an early night, so have a good evening everyone.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
OH is watching the football
so I am upstairs watching Jesus Christ Superstar on DVD (and singing along)
Runny, I always have to look plants up that people mention, and then add them to my long (and getting longer) list

Hope it's nice for you tomorrow Fairy
