  • Thanks all for good wishes to Shadow, he is fine, op went well, although he is sulking a bit and having a losing battle with his collar, bless. image

Had a late booking this afternoon, so dashed round getting ready and then dashed off to bakers for croissants, pain au raisin & pain au chocolate and then made a fresh fruit salad for breakfast only to get a call about an hour ago to say their car had broken down and they were staying at motorway services  hotel. image Now what am I going to do with all those pastries.image image

Lyn was here not that long ago, pops in and out. Hope her parents are OK. Hollie Hock was moving house again. Orchid Lady is probably busy with their new business.

Put them in the freezer DD. Then get them out and reheat for next guests. Eat the fruit salad image

  • Ooh Lizzie, you are far too sensible, but certainly right thing to do. Btw, think I have your cold, obviously not having a sea between us makes al the difference. image

Right, really off to bed now, been stroking Shadow to sleep, he is not happy bless him, but can't get him used to too much fussing. My guilty conscience, that's what it is. image

    Good morning all,

Good morning AWB and those to followimage. Enjoy your breakfast and hope the weather is fine for your day in the garden.

Inspired by John and chicky I'm going to sow my sweet peas in toilet roll tubes today but only in a cut-down strong cardboard beer box lined with a bin bag.  Just the right size for the windowsill.

Liri I hope you enjoyed afternoon tea yesterday - sounds very civilisedimage

KEF - expect you're busy clearing all surfaces so there's room for all the cards the postman's bringing laterimage

Lizzie the Wedding Day rose is magnificentimage.  DD I hope Shadow cheers up today, poor thing.

  • Good morning all image

Dd, leftover pastries make a wonderful bread and butter-type pudding if you add some stale brioche - Verdun would love it I'm sure image

Hope Shadow is feeling ok - I remember our dogs taking two or three days to get over it then all was forgotten once the stitches came out.

Lots to do today - must go into the city to get some wax polish for the parquet as Waitrose haven't got any in stock - I'll pick up some food from the market at the same time.

Just need another coffee before I start the day properly - anyone else want one?
