Today I started swapping the pots with spring bulbs in for the upcoming lilies. Then I found that the undergardener had mowed the pinks that were just about to flower. Chelsea chop it was not. It looked like grass he said. So did the harebells last year. The blue poppies were decapitated the year before. How many times have I said if its in a border, leave it.
Then Mum phoned. She had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. I then had to race up, give her an antihistamine, run her to hospital for prearranged x ray, sit at doctors for a gap for different antibiotics, then got home to find undergardener on a diet had found some fruit loaf in the freezer and accidentally eaten it.
So I have a large glass of wine, he has gone to play badminton with a friend, and pot swapping will resume tomorrow.
Gardener's World was good last night so you'll enjoy it fidget.
The wind is increasing and showers blowing over and we've still got to dig up the last of the box roots, weed and pressure wash the patio in time for the builders coming next week. I'm sort of hoping they are a few days late.
Good morning Susan They normally wake OH up pushing their dish around on the terrace (he's a very light sleeper) but we both slept soundly - however it's pretty apparent that there were several of them out there last night Think we'll have to sweep the terrace this weekend

Same here, I cooked for the first half of our marriage and now OH has taken over. He doesn't bake though that's still my domain.

Lovely morning out there - I've just done my morning wander in my jimjams - it looks like the hedgehogs have been having a party on the lawn!
