There was another storm this afternoon and my Border Collie is a quivering wreck in storms. But instead of hiding under the stairs as usual he disappeared outside. We spent a lot of the afternoon looking for him. He reappeared when the sun was shining again, looking sheepish and asking for lunch!

    Sounds painful, Lesley.

  • Beaus Mum  I spotted a bit in a local paper about a station tidy up and plant at Woolston station so contacted them by email, bits of planting was to be done and I was allowed to do it

most of it was spent litter picking - me not so interested but helping out - thinking I wanted to do garden planting, mum was helping too and she said to the man about the garden bit as I was on other platform so called over gardening started much more like it

They were doing planting at another station in a few days said I could help if wanted,  I went to see what that was like but bit further away

I was wondering if they were doing anything at Sholing station he said a litter pick in the next week - ok not so sure if I was wanting to go - mum and me went only us and him litter pick and asked about the garden area showed him a great space for a garden pre made raised bed he put into action asking the South West Trains and all go we were allowed it, lots of health and safety first before gardening - lots of digging done by others as well as us and lots of bulbs given to us to plant - free range to design how we wanted - exciting

Great having an extra bit of garden good to have extra room when needed for spare plants and growing different things and cause it is nice gardening

Great story of how it all started Gg.  You've stuck in there and made a huge difference.  Well doneimage

Poor dog Lizzie.  He must have been frightened out there by himself - probably thought he could get away from it.  My Gran used to hide under the stairs when there was a thunderstormimage  Now I'm older I realise it probably had something to do with bombs during the war bless her.

The station is looking great GardenGirl Im sure its appreciated by the passengers.

I did relax this evening but first I spent a couple of hours at the home where mom is a resident, shes not looking good at the moment and is having quite a few problems with her skin, especially on her feet, which isnt good if you are a 92 year old diabetic.  Anyway I got her sorted and had quite a long chat with the nurse.

I then spent the rest of the evening catching up on Gardeners World and Beechcroft which were taped while I was on holiday.  Really like some of those Salvias and Ive added them to my wish list.

Im on nanna duty tomorrow so will have to get a reasonably early night tonight.
