Hope you enjoy you day Panda and Dove. Public Transport isn't very conducive when it comes to getting plants home in one piece, as I found out when trying to get a very tall Ixia plant home from BBC Gardener's World on the train along with numerous other purchases.
I've managed all sorts Yvie, but think I would have to draw the line at trees The last lot of plants I bought came home on the bus Needs must when you can't drive
Morning all. Woke up with a sore throat, probably getting OH's cold, but it's not a bad one. Anyway, must go shopping, supermarket, no milk left, Tigger needs chicken and rice. Haven't had time to look back yet. I'll catch up when we get back. Must get back in time for log man who is coming to cut some branches on trees and sort a rampant unpruned honeysuckle that has a big bramble running through it.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thanks bekkie but I'm fine - just woke up at silly o'clock and couldn't drop off again. Still there's a nice peaceful evening ahead to watch whatever tv I want IF I can stay awake.
Yvie, glad you're not too stiff today and hope your wisteria gets a shock and blooms this year. Don't forget to let me know when your glasses are fixed
I'm lucky not to have to carry plants on public transport but that means I just buy more than I should
Made a resolution to learn this year, in the mean time my purchases get carried home on foot. Today I had a basket full of shopping/plant food and 6 Wilko trellis balanced on my bike. it was not a fun time, plus my gym bag broke recently, so my gym gear was on my shoulder in one of those cloth shopping bags. Need to get to the local designer centre soon and get myself a new backpack, I get more home that way
Hello everyone, I'm home now
Panda and Dove, enjoy your day. Didn't fool me at all
I have one of those bikes with the shopping basket on the front and yes I could do with panniers for the back or another basket. I don't know how I get stuff home sometimes myself, just count it as extra gym
Wintersong you could always get one of those bike trailers, you could get loads in it
Well the wisteria is pruned, the rest of my Nerines planted, the rubbish from yesterday tidied and the Lysimachia ‘Beaujolais’ (the few that actually germinated) are potted up.
Ive made a decision to dig up more lawn . I want to grow a couple of roses up obelisks to form a sort of gateway. Will need to wait until a) I have enough energy to dig up more lawn b) hubby is out of the way so he wont know until the deed is done. In the meantime I'm going to order another matching obelisk and I might just have to investigate what roses I want . Yay.
Still grey and cold here, and the snow is not disappearing very fast.
Finally bit the bullet, cranked up the propagator, and have sown my first lot of seeds. Salvia patens and Salvia farinacea. Problem at this time of year, is that there is so little going on, that I will look at them everyday, and worry about them germinating.
It does not matter how many years I have been gardening, I still worry about whether my seeds will germinate.
I agree with less lawn Yvie. It is most unusual for me not to have extended, or made a new bed this year, but there is still time.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Yesterday OH took me to Slimbridge to see wild water fowl as I was getting stir crazy. Enjoyed myself. For those with little ones they had a wellie play area with streams and shallow ponds and mud - looked great fun,
Today I'm waiting for daughter nad her future MIL and we are going wedding venue viewing
Tomorrow it's back to the hospital
Sorry not looked back on here at all but hope all are OK and beginning to enjoy spring gardens
One other thing - sowed seeds in new electric propagator on 8th Feb and they have germinated

Winter it would be a good idea to get large panniers to fit your bike and then get even more home. Don't know how you managed trellis though
Sounds as though Tigger is still enjoying his chicken and rice then Lizzie
